In reply to: [Customizr] Bad side effects with upgrade to 2.6.1Thanks, Nikeo, This solved the worse problem (the inability to display anything but the Demo slider), which is great. But the other problem happened again — when I upgraded, the Front Page setting was switched back to “Your latest posts”, so I had to manually reset it back to “A static page” again. However, I’m not going to lose sleep over that one. ;0)
p.s. — Can you tell I used to test software??? ;0)

In reply to: [Customizr] search field in the nav menuThanks for this code, Sevar. I had the same request from my customer, so you have helped me make them happy! ;0) (Would be nice to have this added as a future theme option.)

In reply to: [Customizr] Bad side effects with upgrade to 2.6.1fyi, I just DOWN-graded the site back to v2.1.4, and it resolved this problem — the front page will now display any of the sliders I created. So, the “emergency” is over. But I would suggest NOT officially releasing 2.6.1 until this problem is troubleshot and resolved.

In reply to: [Customizr] Bad side effects with upgrade to 2.6.1I tried this, but it had no effect. Only the Demo slider will display on the front page. None of the sliders I previously created will display. And I just tried it with a new slider I created after applying the theme upgrade — same result.
Nikeo: I had just demo-ed the site to the customer before the upgrade, and now it is seriously broken. The project I am working on now is DEAD as long as this persists. So I’m hoping — really hard — that you can fix this problem ASAP. Thanks.
Well, I understand what you are saying, nikeo, but what I am saw is that the incorrect image — the one that I had actually DELETED from the slide — was still being displayed. And the new image that I added to the page (after deleting the first image) would NOT display, even though it was only image attached to the page. So, there is apparently some sort of bug in the logic that controls this.

In reply to: [Customizr] Deleting a slider from a pageAwwwk!!!! I just upgraded to v2.1.6 and I noticed at least TWO unexpected and unwanted changes happened. I will start a separate thread about this.

In reply to: [Customizr] Circle Images Popping up after postI agree with this enhancement request — strongly! The images can consume too much valuable screen real estate. You should be able to either suppress them, or, as StevePoons suggests, selectively identify the ones you do want to display in the blog list using the featured image — NOT simply default to the first image displayed in the post.

In reply to: [Customizr] Deleting a slider from a pageI have run into a couple of related issues:
1) I am unable to ADD a slider to a particular static page. I change the settings on the page to add the slider, but when I Update the page, the Choose A Slider field gets re-set to Select A Slider, and no slider appears when I View Page.
2) On another page, I tried to DELETE a slider that I had added to the page when I first created the page. After I Update the page and go to View Page, the slider is still there — even though the Add to Slider setting is set to No.

In reply to: [Customizr] Some icons do not display in ChromeBy the way, here is the article discussing the advisability of using the text-rendering property: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/7968795/is-it-safe-to-use-the-css-rule-text-rendering-optimizelegibility-on-all-text Note that one of the comments suggests setting this property value to “auto”. I just tried that, and it worked fine, the same as removing it entirely — the icons all display in Chrome now.

In reply to: [Customizr] Some icons do not display in ChromeWith the help of my brilliant son, we were able to figure out what was going on here. It stems from the text-rendering: optimizelegibility; property that is applied to the h1-h6 headers. When this property is disabled, all of the icon fonts display properly; when it is re-introduced, the entypo fonts disappear. So, removing that property is my workaround — it doesn’t seem to have any adverse effect on how the site displays. Perhaps you should consider removing this property from the theme’s CSS. I found one discussion thread that suggested it is not a good idea to use this property.
By the way, I also tripped through a number of other discussion threads related to icon fonts not displaying properly. In fact, it seems that the o/s that one is using has an effect on whether and how a font displays. I couldn’t see the entypo icons on Windows 8. However, my son uses Chrome on a Mac, and he has no problem seeing the entypo fonts on the https://toolbox-4-websites.com/about/
