I wonder. I added an auto-backup plugin a few weeks ago and I updated Disqus about the same time. Server caching might be an answer, but I’ve used the same host for ten years with no such occurrence. I can drop them a line to see if they did anything funky.

Well, nothing ventured nothing gained. I’ll install your plugin and see what happens. Can’t hurt (I assume). ?? Is it the one from Barn2 Media?

Crap. I posted this in the wrong place, I guess. I’m not using your plugin. I am using the one WP supplies.

I’m perfectly willing to use yours, though. Should I? ??

It’s very similar to that one. I don’t have a child theme, but I was able to find and edit my functions.php file in the themes folder of the blog through cPanel.

I’m having the same problem, and I appreciate the effort made to find and code a fix. It’s unclear to me just where the statements posted by krazykatz911 here should be placed in the functions.php file for my theme.

Can you make it any clearer for me?

Disqus comments system

My blog appears as it should on the home page (https://linkmeister.com/dodgers/), but once a comment is added to an individual post the column text appears as centered rather than left-justified and the right sidebar floats down to the bottom of the center column (https://linkmeister.com/dodgers/2016/04/game-12-2016/#disqus_thread).

I’m using the Admired theme with Disqus comments.

Doug, thanks. I got tired of waiting and did what I said I didn’t want to do. I spent a couple of hours cutting and pasting about 100 quotations into the “add quote” box.

I’m happy enough with that, but I am a little annoyed that there was never a response, even one saying “No, you can’t do that easily.”

Oh well. I like the theme Srini wrote and I like the functionality of the add-in now that I’ve got some verbiage in it.

PS: My quotes are from Will Rogers, Isaac Asimov, Carl Sagan, Heinlein, Robert Frost, Carl Sandburg, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Edward R. shinjing, thanks a lot. That works for photos, and I’ve done it (you can see the result at the linked post above). It looks like I should do that when I’m inserting media into a post rather than after the fact.

For something entered as text like an ordinary footnote there would be no “image” to edit, though, so the question remains for that sort of data.

Ah, now I see what you meant. The Custom CSS box at the bottom of the Theme Options page. (Light goes on!)

I don’t think I’ve touched any CSS file or code since I upgraded, but I appreciate the reply. I’m having trouble determining which CSS file I need to change permissions on in order to modify this code. Can you advise, please?

I should have added to the original post below that I’m using the built-in WP RSS widget, not any customized version.

I’ve got an RSS feed from the NY Times Headlines page coming in through the RSS widget onto my left sidebar. Every morning it loads up the latest headlines and those headlines stay there for the next 14 hours. I know (I’ve looked) that the NYT RSS feed stories change, so why doesn’t the feed change with them? And how do I go about correcting this?

I’m using the F2 1.0.10 theme by Srini G, not the default Twenty Ten theme. My site is https://www.linkmeister.com/wordpress/. I’m using Firefox 5.0 on a Windows 7 box.

This is increasingly annoying, so I hope somebody can help. Thanks in advance.
