In reply to: Calendar skin for blog postsYes, items #1 and #2 are all set, and an events page already exists. I’m looking for a plugin for item #3, if such a thing exists.

In reply to: Calendar skin for blog postsYes, I can create metadata without trouble. I’m looking for a way to display just one page on my site differently from the rest, using that metadata. If you have a specific suggestion that would be great. Again, I’ve looked at lots of plugins and haven’t found one that would display just one page differently from the rest, filtered appropriately.

In reply to: Calendar skin for blog postsThey are standard blog posts. The date of the event is in the body of the post currently. I’m imagining adding metadata (e.g. tags or custom fields) to enable sorting by event date.
While I’ve reviewed a number of event plugins and calendar plugins, I have not found anything that meets my needs. I’m not hosting events or selling tickets. I don’t want to provide addresses, prices, maps or other details. Just one hero image and text, but sortable by event the event date, rather than the date the blog post was published, and only on one page, not the entire site.

I made this adjustment but it did not fix the issue. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

In reply to: page titles disappeared from 2013 themeAaaand….they’re back. I’m not sure exactly what the underlying issue may have been but I think its rooted somewhere in the “Add-Meta-Tags” plugin. Deactivating and reactivating had no effect but enabling and disabling several of the options within the tool seemed to do the trick.

In reply to: [OTW Portfolio Light] Portfolio page not displaying my portfolio items.Hi, I have a similar problem (this is one of several errors I’ve received) but I’m a beginner and don’t totally understand the solution. Could you explain a little more what you discovered?
Thanks!

In reply to: PHP errorThanks! That’s what I’m setting up.
I’m having a hard time finding instructions that are beginning enough for me to follow.
So I’ve been working with this, and I’ve followed steps 1-4.1, I think correctly,
https://laughingsquid.us/faq/wordpress/install/
I’ve not yet gotten step 4.2 to work, and I haven’t quite figured out what I’ve done wrong yet, but I am making (slow) progress.

In reply to: PHP errorI did download it to my computer.
The instructions say to upload everything (to your computer, I assume?) and then open wp-admin/instal.php in your browser…and that’s were I’m stuck.
At that point, I’m getting a browser full of code which includes that error message, rather than the form page that I think normally would show up.
