Customizr – system info in my post above. I downloaded it in wordPress from the themes available for download directly from WordPress.
I just too the scrolling text widget out of the widget area and the height of the bottom bar is OK in CHrome so looks as though i have to find another scrolling text plugin.

Doh…I just had to change the background colour for the page in my theme. So, I’ve answered my own question!

Thanks for those websites. I took a deep breath and looked at the directories these files were in to find that each of them popped into the directories yesterday, so I reckon deleting them won’t affect the site. I’ve just upgraded my protection with Startlogic and given them the go-ahead to remove the files. I just hope the site looks as it should tomorrow. If not, I’ll be onto those websites in search of a WordPress expert.

Well spotted! The zbplayer plugin has a Facebook link built in, which explains the Facebook reference in the unwanted code. I installed the latest version of the plugin and managed to add a new sales page without any problems. Maybe there was a bug in the previous version of the plugin. If the problem returns I’ll uninstall zbplayer and find something that doesn’t conflict.

Thanks so much for your help.

An update on what I posted a couple of days ago. I’m almost certain that the current version of the eShop plugin has a few bugs in relation to Wordpess 4.0 which I downloaded a few days ago. I get a message saying that eShop has not been tested with the version of WordPress I have installed.

I got around the problem in the short term by reassigning everything I had listed under ‘products’ elsewhere. In doing so I think I’ve isolated where the fault lies.

The unwanted code appears if you create a top level item and then try to sit second level ones under the Parent. I got around this problem by changing text on existing pages and a couple of other fiddles.

However, someone needs to look at this because we need to be able to create cascading menu levels.

BTW, it’s a great plugin which works well for me.

I agree – I’ve now posted in the eshop support forum.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I do have a Facebook share link in the sidebar which is working fin on all pages. I removed it to see if it made a difference but it didn’t so I put it back in.

I created a new page ‘Test’ and made it the parent of ‘Audio’ – the code appeared. I made ‘Test’ the parent of a couple of pages from other sections of the site and the code didn’t appear. Then I created a new page ‘Test Cards’, made ‘Test’ its parent and made ‘Test Cards’ the parent of the one sub-page that belongs to ‘Cards’. No problem. However, when I inserted the [eshop_list_subpages] code on ‘Test’ the code appeared. So it looks as though it’s a problem in eshop….BUT why only on this one page, Products??

If you or anyone else has any further suggestions I’d be most grateful.

Is this an answer to me question? – ‘Allowed markup: a blockquote code em strong ul ol li.
    Put code in between backticks.
As you can see, I’m a complete novice when it comes to support forums.
