Our other site has just become unstable and non-functional as well. And there were no plugins at all activated on that one. They’d all been deactivated.

I’m sorry–and I’m doing this why? This problem evidently has been going on for months. I’m not a computer professional or web developer; I’m a writer. Why should I have to go through all this? This is insane.

Sorry, Esmi, I know that you’re just another member trying to help me, and this isn’t by any means directed at you. Forgive my bewilderment and frustration.

Esmi–thank you, it’s a wonderful video. But I tried that and it didn’t work. And I tried switching to the default theme and back. Then I tried re-uploading those files. That didn’t solve the problem either. What do I do?

Esmi, thank you for answering. I tried deactivating all the plugins again, and it didn’t make a difference.

One correction: the html screen is visible right away. It’s just that the WYSIWYG view is invisible and the toolbar is gone. Then, if you clock on it, it comes up html.

I didn’t understand the directions about trying to reset the plugins folder in MyPhp or FTP. I’m not that sophisticated, I’m afraid.

Any other ideas?

You know, I saw people saying that, so I tried deactivating all of them, and it made no difference. What it is, is the WYSIWYG toolbar has disappeared, and when I log onto a post to edit, nothing appears in either screen, WYS or HTML. Then, when I click in the HTML screen, the code comes up, but when I switch to the other one, I get html there as well, and still it’s just the HTML toolbar up there.

I really had a feeling that it was something I’d done; as if I hit the wrong button and it disappeared. Is that possible?

Hi, Nola. I think you were right about what it was, but I had to get someone at our web hosting company to fix it for us on all three of our web sites. We lost a lot of material, though.

What should the wp-config file look like? How do I know what’s wrong and fix it. I don’t really know what permalinks are, so I doubt that I changed any. ??

This site has been up since January and I’ve never done anything to change the wp-config.php settings. Wouldn’t know what they are where to find them. Can you give me a hint, guys?

Please, can someone help us? We don’t even know if this is a wordpress issue or something with the web hosting service. We’d be so grateful for some guidance!

Yeah, me too–though it wasn’t on the main domain before. What does it mean, though, and why am I getting it. Does it mean someone hacked our site?

Hi. I am having this same problem. On the home page my header images adn right sidebar are not visible. If I click on a category, the header image comes up, but the sidebar shows a bunch of error-messages and code-ish typescript. Did you ever get your problem solved? Or does anyone else know what this is about?

Okay, thanks. Let me mull that over. It doesn’t seem like it’s part of the theme–at any rate, I can’t find any option for that. But it’s helpful that you say it’s the css/javascript, because I thought it was in the html structure. Thank you SO much!!
