    Much obliged Giorgio25b, I know it was a tall order, I’m not very good at this stuff, I make a wordpress site like once every two years! Most of your answers were right on the mark and much appreciated, although I still cannot figure out problem #1 on my list- how to keep the header intact and have the page scroll underneath it. All the settings at Appearance > Customize > Header > Navigation Menus and also Appearance > Customize > Header > Design and Layout only seem to let you either have the header scroll with the page, or tuck the header up with variables like keeping the logo and menu, which looks terrible with just the logo and menu different colors over the translucent or white background.

    I would either like to keep the header just as it is and stuck to the top during scrolling, or maybe if it tucked up and moved the menu up, have the background be the same color red as the logo and background of the menu so it looked continuous.

    Any ideas anyone? Thanks so much in advance.

    Here’s my updated custom CSS in Advanced Options in case it’s relevant:

    .navbar .nav > li > a {
    background-color: #bd3f03;
    }
    .navbar-inner a.social-icon { text-shadow: none; color:white;
    }
    footer#footer .colophon a.social-icon { text-shadow: none; color:#bd3f03;
    }
    a.icon-feed:hover {color:#000000;}
    a.icon-email:hover {color:#000000;}
    a.icon-facebook:hover {color:#000000;}
    a.icon-instagram:hover {color:#000000;}
    .navbar .nav > li > a { text-shadow: none; color: white; }
    .navbar .nav > li > a:hover { color: #000000; }
    .page #main-wrapper h1.format-icon:before {
    content: none;
    }
    .post h1.format-icon:before, .post h2.format-icon:before {
    content: none;
    }
    .entry-meta {
    display: none;
    }
    .tc-header {
    background: #bd3f03;
    border-bottom: 3px solid #000000;
    border-top: 3px solid #000000;
    }
    footer#footer {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #bd3f03;
    border-top: 3px solid #000000;
    }
    .navbar .navbar-inner {
    -webkit-box-shadow: none;
    -moz-box-shadow: none;
    box-shadow: none;
    background: none;
    -webkit-box-shadow: none;
    -moz-box-shadow: none;
    box-shadow: none;
    }
    #left .widget {
    margin-bottom: 15% !important;
    }

    I stumbled across a fix for the #1 item on my list! I added this to the top of my code in the Custom CSS panel:

    .navbar-inner a.social-icon { text-shadow: none; color:white;
    }
    footer#footer .colophon a.social-icon { text-shadow: none; color:#104b7d;
    }
    a.icon-feed:hover {color:#a84d0f;}
    a.icon-facebook:hover {color:#a84d0f;}
    .navbar .nav > li > a { text-shadow: none; color: white; }
    .navbar .nav > li > a:hover { color: #a84d0f; }

    The focus color is still light blue, but I can live with that. If anyone has any suggestions for the other items on my list, I’m all ears! Thanks, this forum has been a huge help.

    Electric Feet, I downloaded and installed Firebug and located the css for the header, which came to be this:

    .tc-header {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF;
    border-bottom: 10px solid #E9EAEE;
    border-top: 5px solid #0088CC;
    min-height: 45px;
    z-index: 200;
    }

    If I copy this into the Custom CSS panel, I can change the background color and the color and width of the borders, which is great! I was thinking I would love to increase the height of the whole header so I could fit the entire logo in, right now the dimensions they give for the logo are 250×100 px so I put a text logo. How would I increase the height of the whole entire header to say 260 px so I can fit a 250x250px logo? I tried changing the min-height but it didn’t work.

    Thanks for the help, much obliged!

    Carolina, yes, I’m using the free version. I didn’t even realize there was a pay version! I just did a quick google search for the commercial version of Customizr and I couldn’t find anything, does anyone have a link?

    Electric Feet, thanks for the tip! I tried your suggestion and it worked! I even tried changing it to “border-top” to control the line above the header and it worked! I was actually thinking of the background color of the strip itself, behind the logo “Govinda Yoga”, and then I’d change the gif logo to have a background color that matches.

    Another question Electric Feet… can I change the menu rollover color to a specific blue using the Custom CSS panel? And also the color of the text that has the address at the top? That would be a lot easier than changing the entire backend css blue skin file and finding and replacing the colors.

    Gonna investigate Firebug, thanks.

    Also, Customizr has these kinda lame icons… a pencil for the posts and I guess what looks like a page of a notebook for the pages. How could I make my own and swap these out? Thanks!

    If anyone has any other suggestions on how to spice it up a bit, I’m all ears!

    rdell, no offense meant at all! I very much appreciate the snippet and I’m going to give it a shot, thanks.

    (@likegluelikecrew)

    I’ve never done any of this kind of thing before, so before I start a few questions.

    rdell, I saw in the comments some people had trouble getting your snippet to work properly with social media icons, etc. Has the snippet been updated to work around those bugs? I’d hate to start and have the same problems.

    Also, I’d be modifying the blue color. Would I change both primary colors to the particular shade of blue in my logo? What is the hex code of the primary blues so I can find and replace?

    Once I replace them, do I give this new blue a name somehow and will it now show up in my customizr list as “Custom Blue” or whatever I’ll call it? Or do I overwrite the blue file so when I choose blue it reflects my colors?

    Yeah if someone could walk me through this, that would help, thanks.

    acub, I’m noticing when I put in a slider image of 1170×500 set to full width the bottom of the pic gets way cut off. Any way to avoid this or is it a necessary evil of the theme?

    Thread Starter likegluelikecrew

    (@likegluelikecrew)

    Thanks acub. Just to be clear, you recommend 1200×500 for the full width slider? (full width slider checked off?) Would I stick with the 1170×500 without the box checked?

    Thread Starter likegluelikecrew

    (@likegluelikecrew)

    Thank you! So does that mean if the slider is set to full width you can choose a width for the pics? Any recommendations?

    Ok, I got through all the way to the permalinks step (which I didn’t update) but everything seems to be working correctly.

    Check it here: https://nezane.org

    Is there anything else I need to do?

    Esmi, thanks for your help, sorry I went off on a bit of a frustrated tangent, it actually wasn’t that bad ??

    Thread Starter likegluelikecrew

    (@likegluelikecrew)

    And how exactly would I update the Permalinks structure, what should I do?

    Ugh, why does this have to be such a huge procedure, there should be a simpler way to do this!!!

    (hear the sound of me pulling my hair out)

    But won’t I skip step 2 and 3 if I already have my files in a wordpress folder on the root directory?
