    Clearing the cache did not solve the issue

    It’s doing it again.

    The only way I was able to solve the problem was to completely reinstall the site complete with new database. (Basically start completely from scratch)

    Everything worked great for a few months.

    As soon as I upgraded to the latest version, this problem appeared again.

    And again, I am having no problem on my other WordPress site.

    Just this one. https://www.dwad.net

    Can’t make new posts or pages. The option to select categories or tags for posts is gone.

    The strange thing is, I have another wordpress site on the same server and it isn’t giving me any problems at all.

    So it doesn’t seem to be a server side issue.

    And it only started when I installed WP 5.0

    I’m at a complete loss here.

    No caching system.

    An error was reported in the console:

    Tested under Twenty Nineteen theme. No success.

    Ran Health Check. No errors found. I have copied the results here.

    As I mentioned in the OP, I have deactivated all plugins with no success. I am not using the default Twenty Nineteen theme.

    I installed Health Check. No luck.

    (@lighthope)

    Replacing the files did not work.

    The problem continues.

    (@lighthope)

    The server is now sending the correct stylesheet and the style is working. You may need to flush your browser cache again.

    It is working now. Thank you for the help. (Sorry for the late reply.)

    Thread Starter Lighthope

    (@lighthope)

    However, your server is sending the page with the old version of the stylesheet without the new css. The stylesheet is not being cached by the browser. Do you or your host have a cache plugin or cache service running? Can you flush it?

    I have purged everything that I can find to purge. I’ve purged so much I could be a runway model. lol

    I have also disabled the Litespeed cache for the time being.

    Thread Starter Lighthope

    (@lighthope)

    Still no joy.

    Did you put it at the end of: /news-mix-lite-child-green/style.css?

    Yes, it is at the end of /news-mix-lite-child-green/style.css

    There is a close bracket } missing after:

    .kopa-single-2 .entry-view {
    color: #01a000;

    I have added the close bracket.

    Try copying and pasting that file into here:
    https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator
    and mess with it until it validates.

    It generally seems to validate. It has a few warnings, but otherwise okay.

    Otherwise, please put the snippet back in the page so I can debug it.

    I have do so. If you could take a look at it, that would be great. Ultimately I am just guessing at the code.

    Thread Starter Lighthope

    (@lighthope)

    Try this custom css in /news-mix-lite-child-green/style.css:

    .woocommerce ul.products li.product .woocommerce-loop-product__title {
    color:#000;
    font-size: 16px;
    line-height:18px;
    }

    Sadly that did not work.

    Thread Starter Lighthope

    (@lighthope)

    You can figure out the location of that image by looking at the source of a page and searching for the line:

    <style type="text/css" id="custom-background-css">

    the next line will show the location of the image

    As you have correctly noted, the background image location is a function of the theme customizer. I want it to point to where I want it to point to, not to where it wants to point to.

    I have an image at a certain URL. Let’s call it https://www.someplace.com/image.jpg

    How do I get WordPress to load the image from that URL as the background image?

    Thread Starter Lighthope

    (@lighthope)

    You could make a child theme and change the function.php to point at the image or probably easier, use one of the custom css plugins (‘my custom css’, ‘simple custom css’ or one of the others) and add a css override (you will probably need the !important tag) using the element and class that points to the image.

    Thank you for the help. Unfortunately, this is kind of what I meant by answers that confuse me.

    Change what in function.php? Add what to custom css?

    What I’m looking for is “Put <this code> in <this php file>.”

    Thread Starter Lighthope

    (@lighthope)

    replacing the existing image with another but using the ssame file name.

    Perhaps there is some confusion as to what I am asking.

    I want to have my background image located at https://www.someplace.com/someimage.jpg

    How do I get WordPress to do that?
