I temporarily solved the ”columns issue” with Shortcodes Ultimate plugin, it seems.
Menu issue still to be handled.

site page now updated with shortcodes ultimate columns:

    you are quite welcome!
I forgot one more lovely feature of this theme:
I don’t have to buy expensive developer licenses!
Since I’m planning to use this template for several clients it really makes a difference that my clients can benefit from. And I don’t mind having to separately buy and activate the Revolution slider license: at only 18$/ea it’s really cheap and great.

Dont’ worry, orbisius: once a plugin is found to work and be useful we may uninstall it when not needed anymore, but we sure remember it when we need it again! ??
I have a whole list of useful plugins I use in developing, and then when the site goes live I uninstall them, so the site is lean and fast. But I do appreciate all the tools I have when starting up a site.

odd that I should have to use a plugin, it’s not standard.
I ‘could’ do it, but can’t see any reason why I couldn’t do this without?
WP has a standard way for children themes.
It’s ok if I also have to copy another thing in the child theme folder (some functions file with some extra code maybe?)

let me know, I hate being dependent om plugins (which may or may not be updated and kept) for vital stuff like an entire theme.

I am not an expert, but..
first thing: did you change the language in config.php?
    example:
    define(‘WPLANG’, ‘hu_HU’);

then: did you check in poedit that ‘a new translation’ was created (ie: Hungarian) ?
I have noticed that the procedure is different when creating a new translation, as opposed to just editing an existing. Check the poedit help files etc.

In case, also put the languages in the original Unique theme (I have done so, just in case)

So you’d have a languages folder in the unique theme with the Hungarian files AND a ‘same’ languages folder in the child-theme also.

In my case, I actually had to take the loop-nav.php file and manually translate ‘Previous’ and ‘Next’ there. Only them did it come out right.
That shouldn’t have to be, but nevertheless, it finally worked.

The other translations went through fine, though.

Check config.php + if your Hungarian file is ‘ok’ and seen as a valid translation.

    hi cybrjim,
the translations must be in the ‘languages’ folder. My Unique theme has one (translations of the theme Unique).
Since I have a child-theme I have loaded the ‘languages’ folder there. In my child-theme files don’t get overwritten during theme updates.

    does that help?

    Ok, so right you are!
    solved!
    Thank you

    Ok thank you! That worked.

Q: Can I *only* use posts? Not pages or categories?

Q: If I must find a plugin (custom slider, pages and posts), how do I get the it to show up on top, while keeping the rest as is – in boxes beneath, which is fine

Sorry for the many Qs, I’m not really expert.

I’m testing other things, you may not see ‘expound’ up, but I can activate it any time. I’d love to use that theme rather than others.
I’m keeping a constant eye on this support thread, in case you answer.
    thank you!

ps: other themes/sliders function fine, so by now I think it’s not ‘the configuration’ or some other host vagary. I’m doing something wrong in Expound, it seems. Can’t find what.
