In reply to: Problem Customizing Theme – PolestarHi @kafeen2000,
Do you mean that you’re seeing that error message when you try to use the WordPress Customizer? Or is that an option within the Polestar theme?
If the latter, you may find value in raising the issue in the support forum for that specific theme:

In reply to: 4 plugins abandonedHi @kuip365,
Oh no! That’s concerning.
What do you mean that those plugins are abandoned? Were they deactivated? Deleted? Simply stopped working?
If they stopped working, it’s worth checking those plugins to see if they were tested for compatibility with WordPress 4.9. You can typically do so by visiting the plugin’s page within the WordPress Plugin Repository.

In reply to: Can’t write PHP in copywright area despite pluginHi @saadi54,
I’ve found that the best way to get support or answers about a specific plugin is to post your question directly in the support section of that plugin if the plugin is in the WordPress Plugin Repository:

In reply to: Can’t access websiteHi @snecz,
Oh no! That’s a problem for sure.
(1) Can you access the front end of the site at all? Is any part of it loading?
(2) Can you try accessing the login page directly? That is, example.com/wp-login.php.
(3) Are you able to SFTP into the server to see if your site has been hacked?
(4) Can you access the database via phpMyAdmin to look for anomalies there?

In reply to: Advanced Membership SiteHi @kineticfilmltd,
A leader within the WordPress community, Chris Lema, has spent much time exploring, studying and writing about membership plugins. He has shared a considerable number of blog posts about membership plugins and how to choose the right one for your project. I’d recommend progressing your own research by spending some time on his site:

In reply to: Erro informado no wordpressAs I don’t speak Portuguese, I used Google Translate to help me understand what you wrote.
Error presented in wordpress post page editor. I already changed the settings of static page when I select the page of post presents this error ..
: You are currently editing the page that displays your most recent posts.
I’ve also disabled the theme.

If that’s an accurate translation, I’m afraid that I still don’t understand the problem that you’re having. Can you please try describing the issue in another way?
Also, you may have better luck sharing your issue on the Portuguese language support forum:

In reply to: Help with an error message when uploading themeHi @africk,
In a non-technical nutshell, there is an issue in the functions file within the Ichthys theme. Within a WordPress theme, a functions file or
functions.php
is where theme developers (and others) can place bits of code to harness different features of WordPress.I noted that the Ichthys theme is available from Themeforest. Since that is a purchased theme, it’s probably best to look for technical support on the theme itself there.

In reply to: Redirect to wrong pageWhen I Google “A Wish Your Heart Makes”, I’m seeing that the first search result is for the puppet page and not for the home page on your client’s site.
For me, that becomes not a redirection issue, but an SEO issue.

In reply to: Titles not showing properly in googleHi @seasideman,
Hmm … that’s an interesting problem. I’ve looked at the source code of your site to check on the
<title>
. Those are displaying correctly within the HTML output. What other plugins are you running? My approach would be to turn off any plugins relating to content and see if that addresses the issue. I suppose there will be some lag time before Google notices the changes.
It might also be worth searching through the database to see if you can locate from where those long numbers that display on the Google search results page.

In reply to: Easy way to create and maintain multiple tables in wordpressHi @ferryavb,
My initial thought is ‘No’. In my experience, the upload CSV to make a WordPress table plugins convert the data in the CSV into HTML within a WordPress page or post. As such, trying to update the content in the website table from (for example) an updated CSV via the plugin would not update the website table, but rather, would create a new table.
As such, it may be a suitable work around: keep your offline CSV files up-to-date with fresh prices and details; then upload those tables to the site as needed, replacing the previously created table with that out of date information.
Admittedly, this process is not ideal, but may be a workable short term fix.
