In reply to: [Showeblogin Social Plugin] Stopped working after first dayI’m guessing from the lack of response that I should just delete this widget and look for something that works? I have to say I’m extremely disappointed by the limited ‘support’ that I’ve received on this.

In reply to: [Showeblogin Social Plugin] Stopped working after first dayOK. I’ve deactivated, logged out, logged back in then reactivated. I then set up the ‘Like Box’ widget at the top of the Primary Side Bar. Then I added a Text box immediately below this and inserted the Code for ‘Follow’. I saved both.
I then went to ‘Visit Site’ and it showed both buttons and images where they were supposed to be. I went back into Widgets and moved the ‘Like Box’ widget to the bottom of the Primary Side Bar. I went back to ‘Visit Site’ and the Follow button was at the top and the Like button was at the bottom of the Primary Side Bar as I had wanted.
BUT I then logged out of Word Press, checked the site through Firefox and it was back to the same blank spaces! My partner’s just checked the site on his tablet and it’s showing blank spaces too.
So, it seems that logging out of Word Press seems to be the issue here. As soon as I do that, it seems to deactivate the programme.
Of course that doesn’t explain how you can see the buttons. One final thing; I just moved the Like Box widget back to the top of Primary Side bar and went to ‘Visit Site’. It flashed up a message indicating that it was loading – but then it just went blank again!
Don’t know how much of this helps but fingers crossed!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Showeblogin Social Plugin] Stopped working after first dayNope. I’ve tried various widths and heights but still nothing. I’m going to deactivate then reinstall and see what happens.

In reply to: [Showeblogin Social Plugin] Stopped working after first dayThanks for your prompt reply Suresh. I’ve tried it on smartphone, tablet and Firefox browser but still can’t see it. There’s just a blank space. The code is definitely there but no images coming up.
Thanks wfasa. I appreciate your input. Just want to let you know that I’m on the road for the next few days so won’t be able to try this until next week.
I’m sruggling to identify those specific hits from all the other activity that’s recorded on wfHits. Of the ones I’ve looked at, there are none that suggest consecutive attempts within the space of one second.
The emails that notify me of attempted logins and their subsequent blocking very definitely record larger intervals than one second – although that’s the interval between one IP address trying and then another trying with the same username; not the interval between a single users three attempts.
I’ve added ‘admin’ and a whole range of other usernames to my list of users that should be immediately blocked under this Wordfence option but they’re not being blocked immediately. They’re all allowed three attempts to login before they’re blocked. Since three is the maximum number of login attempts anyone is allowed, seems to me that this “Immediately block the IP…” option isn’t working. Or I’m missing something in terms of setting it up.
Just to be a little more precise about my problem. Even though the log-in attempts come from different IP addresses every time, they’re all allowed 3 attempts at logging in before they’re blocked (That’s the limit I’ve set on log-in attempts). What I don’t understand is why they’re allowed three attempts when the blocking option says ‘immediate’ lock out.

In reply to: Wordfence immediate blocking of certain usernames not working. This problem is getting worse – 56 attempts in the space of 12 minutes. Any thoughts/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
