Thanks juggledad for coming back to me – there seems to be very little online about this so would appreciate any update you can give when you upgrade.

I tried that thanks – it did make it bold but wont change the colour.

I have double checked and I am nnot using the themes custom options and I know the style sheet is the correct one to be making changes on (as I was able to change the menu text from orange to red and make the CONTACT option bold – its just the red that wont “take”

    Any other ideas greatful received

This is my nav menu styles:

    Hi – thanks for this.

Its namesco and they seemed to know what wordpress was.

I read them these instructions from the Map an Existing domain support on wordpress :

Instructions for Mapping an Existing Domain

Update your domain’s name servers to the following. Make sure to remove any existing name servers that are already there.
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Namesco did this over the phone with me and I thought, OK< just wait until it takes affect then Ill be able to buy the upgrade and do the rest of it.

However, I noticed my emails stopped working.

I called Nameso back and was advised that moves the emails also.

I said I didnt want that (and had made it clear to them)

They said I have 2 choices

POint the email back to Namesco from WordPress with mx
    or
Get a hold of the DNS A Record IP Address from wordpress then give that to namesco and it will point web only.

Can you see why I am confused – perhaps someone can see where I am going wring here?

    Thanks

I know they are seperate ?? What I am saying is that my server company says that in order to point to wordpress – for web only – ie leave my mail as it is – I will need to know the DNS A Record IP for wordpress – apparently once I have this I can direct it to wordpress.

All the instructions on wordpress dont advise you that your email would also change whic, for me, is no good.

My server did advise that I could then log into wordpress and point the mx back to the original server but I am wary of that.

hence apparently my only option is to get the DNS A Record IP Address.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

HI – I have an active site already and my own server (not just hosting).

I went through the process of changing the DNS settings this morning only to find that doing so also moves your email – I didnt see mention of this on the wordpress guide – so I have ahd to change it back.

Now I need the DNS A Record IP address so that I can do this for the web only – so that my mail will remain. Does this make any sense?

I cant find where to get this DNS A Record IP Address from.
    Thanks

HI, thanks for this – I have read this and many other wordpress pages but to be honest it makes no sense to me, I know that doesnt help with someone giving advice to me:)

My main area of concern is that the option – moving from one server to another – does this even apply to me as my site is local and dont know how to get it online at all.

What section of that help document should I be reading / following? Myproblem is that I dont see a section on there that relates to having it on local to taking it to a server – or am I missing something?

    Thanks
