  • Hi @salvatorefresta ! Thanks for your answer about this. I will test your plugin and I will get back to you if I have any question ??

But this hook, will solve anyway lot of problems and in theory, I won’t be able to have 404 anymore.

Ok thanks I will try this right now.

By the way, how iw it stil possible with the filter i added that AO cache is still purged ? Is it normal ?

    Hi there,

About Autoptimize, does this other way around actually work? For some reason I don’t know yet, my Autoptimize is purged every day or almost and I’m having 404 on AO because the HTML page from Cloudfare can’t reach the correct .js file since it has been regenerated after the purged. Is there a setting to purged the CF cache if the AO cache is purged then ?

    Thanks,
    Sylvain

    Hi again,

Sadly the filter isn’t working on my case. I don’t why but the AO cache was purged again and I have lot of 404’s again from AO.

I read on another post that you know theme or even plugin who think purging AO cache in the same time is a good idea?

Any idea somehow how can I check which plugin is causing this? Or why the filter to force AO to not listen to any other purge cache? Yesterday I thought It was listening to WP Rocket (which pas the case) but somehow the AO cache was purged during the night…

Any help will be appreciated ??
    Thanks
    Sylvain

Probably; I know of at least one (major) theme which incorrectly thinks it’s a good idea to purge Autoptimize’s cache and there are a number of plugins out there that also do that.

Franck, can you tell us what theme is it? Sadly, I’ve tried to use the filter that we talked about yesterday but it’s not working for a reason.

Yes I guess you’re right. I will test this on my staging environment if I can.

    Thanks,

Merci Franck, I didn’t know you were from Belgium and speak French.

I will leave a review and keep you informed today or tomorrow if the filter is working fine!

Last question if I may (in English for everyone). How I can be sure the settings I have from your plugin are “the most optimized” for my site. I mean, I haven’t checked all the options in JS/CSS possibilities and even in the “extra” tab

    Merci ??

that sounds like a plan ??

    Yes it is. Thanks ??

Thanks for your answer about the AO purge. I will see how it goes then and i will enable the “404 fallback option” on 2.7

    Thanks,
    Sylvain

    Hi again ??

    Thanks for your quick answer.

I guess I will try to use the filter from your doc first to see if it works perfectly. To be sure that I understand everything, I will add this filter, purge everything. Then I can try to purge the WP Rocket cache first, Cloudflare after, and see if I get any 404 from Autoptimize? This way I will be sure AO didn’t listen to the purge from WP Rocket and keep the same js/CSS file.

Quick question though. What will happen if the cache from AO is full? Do I have to purge it manually? And then just after that, I should purge CF cache as well, otherwise I will have again the same problem?

    (@lesdeuxpiedsdehors)

    Hi there ??

Thanks for your great answer. I spent the afternoon looking for a way to solve this problem. But i guess i have the “why” now. Let me know if i’m on the right track.

    – From what I understand my Html pag were cache on CF with js/css file.
    – The problem is since 2.4, AO is listening to some other cache plugin. That’s when i figured this afternoon that it was WP Rocket causing the issue. I found this on your doc.

Can I disable AO listening to page cache purges?

    As from AO 2.4 AO “listens” to page cache purges to clear its own cache. You can disable this behavior with this filter;

    add_filter(‘autoptimize_filter_main_hookpagecachepurge’,’__return_false’)

    – I checked and my WP Rocket was clearing is cache every 10h, and Autoptimize was also clearing is cache.
    – The problem is AO regenerate these js/css files behind the scene (as the cache was purged) and when my Html pages called the js/CSS file, the reference wasn’t here, hence my 404 I guess.

    Am I wrong from there?

So my guess is I can use the filter from your doc and add it to my theme’s functions.php file. This way it will force AO to not listen WP Rocket clearing his cache every 10h? This way I can keep Wp rocket on (for page caching), AO (for minification CSS/js), and Cloudflare.

Or maybe I could set up WP rocket to not clear at all, this was AO won’t clear his cache and I won’t have any problems. But I’m not sure what it’s implying then ?

What are your thoughts on this? ??

    Thanks for your great support.

Anyone from Polylang can help here ? Anyone is using the 7 theme with Polylang.

I’m also having some bug as it’s sometimes not saving the change i’m doing on a post. Plus, the image title/text alt aren’t saving on the /en side of my site.

Any help would be appreciated ?

    Hi there,

This is just a test site. You need to look at it on a computer.

From what I saw, the problem came from the theme, as the widget bar is not stopping at the end of the post. Plus, the ‘you may also like’ is very wide and don’t follow the same width as the post. I think that’s why. It’s the same for comments. My fixed widget are going over comments too ?

I’ve spoken too fast. It’s works great on computer and tablet but it doesn’t seems to be responsive, as in mobile the text is too long an there is something wrong ?

Thanks a lot. That works perfectly. Is there a way for me to add an image with the second query i asked ?
