Try WP Rollback plugin. It will work even if you didn’t save a backup. It will give option to go back. It worked for me. I did a db backup before I ran it.
ditto on the image resizing and broken cats. Now everything back to normal.
there was still an issue where above the sub category the parent category name showed.
I moved products to uncat and deleted the parent, then I recreated the parent and it got rid of the name of the parent above the sub-cat. I am on latest ver. of WP. All plugs up to date.
