    Hello,

    Thanks Barry works perfectly.

    Regards,

    Leigh

As someone who paid a huge $10 (prepaid) for 5000 images, no monthly commitment I can say the cloud paid option is money well spent (for me).

The techniques used in the cloud enabled version+lossy are much better. If you want to see what it would look like before parting with any amount of money.. Try https://www.jpegmini.com it works like that (with more file type support) when operating in cloud mode.

Without the “paid” cloud mode, for me, it didn’t help me much as most of my images were saved with the “save for web” function in photoshop which does a good job. EWWW found a few I missed out of hundreds. Saved me a pathetic 402kb with the free edition. It’s saved me about 50MB on the same image library on the cloud paid. It’s not EWWW’s fault. I was already pretty strict/good with my image saving habits.

To simplify FREE gives FREE results, which you may well already be getting with a good graphics program like PS Pro or PhotoShop. Paid gets you much better, it’s lossy and effective.

I have no affiliation with anyone. I’m just a person who never minds paying a fair price for a good product. It’s possibly a complex product trying to be both “Freeware” and “Shareware”. Unpaid and Paid. It is however useful in both modes to varying degrees to different people.

Solved, Thanks to the author for the help, problem was the API key system, which was corrected quickly after detailed reporting of the odd problem.

You don’t like problems (all software seems to have some from time to time), but I do like excellent customer service which ends well.

Thanks private message via your website is away.

It has been yellow immediately after I pasted the API key in. I hope it is a little glitch with that. I won’t paste the key here of course, but I did the prepaid option, being new seemed to be a low risk option ??

Here is a sample image, but you could pick just about any on the website:

    https://www.magicmillions.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Lot-2037.jpg

    Uploading to jpegmini.com

    Jpeg Mini: 65kb
    Original: 169kb
    Photo Reduced by 2.6x

That is the result I’m trying to get with EWWW. If I can get that, will be great.

Other options in case it helps:

    Basic:

    X – Remove metadata
    X – Lossy JPG optimization
    X – Lossy PNG optimization
    0 – Bulk Delay

    Advanced:

    Nothing checked, all default

    0 – Skip Small Images
0 – Skip Large PNG Images

    Conversion:

X – enable GIF to PNG conversion

That’s every setting in the program, hope that helps I’m very keen to see it working. Also worried all the testing I was doing is eating at my credit and not getting the JPEG Mini results I was hoping for.

I mostly use the Photoshop save for web function (unless I forget) so lossless compression also gave me no savings. That might be why I got a little saving on about 8 of 850 images I’ve processed so far.

The majority of the images are saying:

    No savings
    Image Size: 194.53 kB
    Re-optimize | JPG to PNG

There approximate 8 it did work with are showing like this:

Reduced by 4.1% (6.6 kB) – Previously Optimized
    Image Size: 153.57 kB
    Re-optimize | JPG to PNG

Either way I send to jpegmini test thing on their home page and significant savings are still left.

    Hope that thoroughly explains everything.

On the cloud page all these options are ticked.

    X – JPG cloud optimization ??
Use the Basic Settings tab to enable lossy compression with JPEGmini.
    X – PNG cloud optimization
X – extra PNG compression (slower)

    X – GIF cloud optimization

The only unchecked item is “Faster Lossy Optimization”

    Leigh

These are the exact options I have ticked, but I believe are not working or if they are, I can’t seem to verify they are working.

Lossy JPG optimization WARNING: While most users will not notice a difference in image quality, lossy means there IS a loss in image quality.
Requires an EWWW Image Optimizer Cloud Subscription. Purchase an API key.

Lossy PNG optimization WARNING: While most users will not notice a difference in image quality, lossy means there IS a loss in image quality.
Uses pngquant locally. Use EWWW I.O. Cloud for even better lossy compression. Purchase an API key.

    Cloud API Key is showing:

    Cloud optimization API Key: Verified,

Verified is in Orange.. which I found odd, but that may be normal of course I’m new so I don’t know.
