Canva have just removed the requirement for an API code. Update to the latest version and you can use it immediately. It just prompts you to log in with your Canva account (Not API key) when you go to create a design.

I have exactly the same problem. Same # and – appearing in the bottom of my sideblog widget.

I’m happy to remove these characters from the code, but I suspect that’s treating the symptoms and not the cause.

I’m using WordPress 2.3.1
