Hi all,

I spend too much time trying to fix things so they fit in IE8 and the likes.

and tell me how to make it look like the Firefox, Google, Safari versions?
IE8 gives me scrollbars, wrecks my post slider, my menu, etc…

I am getting frustrated. Not sure where to look, what to add, delete in order to deal with IE8.

It is not a plugin the issue. It is with the ‘Raptor’ Theme. The Javascript in it which rules the article slider seems to be the issue

Do I need to consult firms about that? Isn’t there a multilingual plugin which comes highly recommended instead?

What solution do worpdress designers mainly go for when building professional looking multilingual sites?

Why did you close my other topic (Best solution for multilingual sites with WordPress) which is different from this one?

• Here I want to know where to go in the code to find what I need in order to translate specific words or text.
• The other post is about finding a plugin that fully translates any wordpress sites, ideally free but would be willing to pay for it.

Maybe there is something about forum rules I do not understand. Would you care to briefly explain if that is the case?

First of all, I want to thank you and your buddies and congratulate you on the work done with multilingual press. It is truly a blessing for me to have found this plugin and I am growing fond of it. I did a lot of trial and error with wordpress multisite set up and the Hatch theme.

I even had to mess with the permalink settings to get everything working smoothly.

I feel all the program is missing at this point is:

Building relationships between categories (taxonomies).

At this point it only works with pages and posts. C’mon I’m sure you can do this overnight with all the bagage you have got!

Thanks David, I followed all instructions but it is not working.
It must be something minor.

My wpconfig file is set to French.
I uploaded the package as and where specified. Do I need to reset/reinstall the package?

The text is specific to the plugin but I need to figure out how to target the right file(s) and line(s) of code. That way I will be able to translate.

My custom theme is well on its way and I’m excited but…

I still do not understand why wordpress will not take images unless they are css background images.

I drop the files in my custom theme’s images folder and my home page file for instance will NOT display the picture. It only give me the alt text.

It will work if I insert the pages through the dashboard but not if I insert the code in the php pages. I want to code a custom home page myself. I do not want to do it from the dashboard. I’m watching a tutorial online and the guy does it so why can’t I!?

Please someone have mercy and explain to me what I am doing wrong…

How come I get the home page file when I log on the site (and refresh) and not when I click the home link. I’m fed a new page than the home.php one then. I believe it is the page.php.
