I appreciate that and this is the reason that if the class is added for the base delivery of the code, users can still see some of the content even when Javascript is turned off. The tabs and switching of content won’t work but they will be able to see something. With the .active class added, we can use CSS to ensure it is visible. Without a class that differentiates the content areas, they all remain hidden. Using :first-child isn’t a suitable solution either because people can visit the page with an anchor tag ‘#example’.
