In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Developed by team of amateursHey @arskrigitsioniets,
Leah from the TEC team here. Thanks for posting so we can hopefully help get things sorted for you.
I’m part of the team that built the migration tool and I’ve been able to help some of our customers who ran into trouble even after following our migration guide. Sometimes there’s something very specific with site configuration or event settings that can complicate things. I’d be happy to take a look at your site to help identify and solve the problems.
Please submit a support ticket at https://my.theeventscalendar.com/get-help/ and note that you’d like my help with migration. That’ll get routed to me and I’ll be able to take a look and get things back on track for you.
Best,
Leah

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Don’t Use.Hey Sean,
Leah from the TEC team here. I’m sorry you ran into this series of issues, it definitely sounds frustrating. I checked out your site and I can see that Virtual Events is working and the events are showing the “Register” button properly.
Were you able to resolve the issues? Our support team reached out on Monday and again today, so I wanted to check in case you weren’t receiving those emails. It looks like things are working for you now, but I wanted to make sure and see if there’s anything else we can help with to get things back on track here.
Best,
Leah

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Migration Never EndsHi there,
Thanks for reaching out so we could help. And thanks for including so much info!
Is it the migration preview that’s stalling out, or the migration itself? I it’s the preview, please try using a snippet to skip the preview as described here.
Please check out your debug log and look for any anomalies there. In particular search for the string “generated an error” as sometimes that can point to the ID of an event that has corrupted data and is stalling out the process.
When you look at Scheduled Actions, are any of them Failed? That could also point to events that are problematic.
It’s possible that your database change could impact the migration. Please go to Events > Settings > Troubleshooting and look at your System Information. It would be helpful for me to know what it says under Custom Tables Migration Status and Custom Tables Health Check (example).
Thanks for working with me on this! I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.
Best,
Leah

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Recurring event Redirect to Error 404Hi there,
?
We recently released The Events Calendar 6.0.6.1 which includes new code to help fix and diagnose 404 errors. There were various causes for these 404s so this fix may not solve the issue for every customer, but it will make it easier for us to troubleshoot remaining problems.
?
Please go to your WordPress admin and update to the latest version of The Events Calendar. If you have Events Calendar Pro, you’ll also want to update to the newest (6.0.5.1).
?
Next, you’ll need to trigger a save on each event that is 404ing.?To do this, open the event and change the start date or start time, and hit Update. Then change the date or time back (so that it’s correct again), and save. This sequence will prompt the system to generate the data necessary to correct the 404. If it’s a recurring event, be sure to choose the?All events?option for each save.
?
As always, we appreciate your patience. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

We believe that updating to the new versions and re-saving events will fix the 404 issue for most customers. If you are still seeing the problem, please reply here and let us know.
As always, we appreciate your patience. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Events don’t migrateHi @artports,
That error message is usually caused by a conflict with another plugin on your site. I’d recommend that you try deactivating other plugins (especially caching plugins) and try migration that way. We’ve also made some migration improvements in our latest release (The Events Calendar 6.0.5) so please update before you try again. Let me know how it goes!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Migration preview in progress , but never completesHi everyone,
I wanted to reach out and give you an update on this stalled migration issue. We’ve been digging into this and have identified two issues, one that has to do with how our queries count events and one that caused a WordPress database deadlock error.
Today we released new versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro. These versions include a fix for the query issue, and we’re working on the deadlock issue for the next release.
Please update to The Events Calendar 6.0.5 and Events Calendar Pro 6.0.4, and try migration again. I’d also encourage you to review our tips for a smooth migration. If the migration stalls again, it’s likely that your site is also experiencing the deadlock issue. You can confirm by looking for
WordPress database error Deadlock found
in your site’s debug log.I’m hoping that this new release allows you to successfully migrate, and please let me know how it goes. I appreciate your patience with us while we work through and solve these complex issues!
All the best,

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Migration preview in progress , but never completesHi folks,
Thanks for reporting these issues. We’ve identified a bug where one of our queries is mis-counting events in the database due to weird event data. Essentially, the migration over-counts and then gets stuck trying to migrate events that don’t exist, but have been counted. I believe that’s what’s going on here.
I’m happy to say that we are working on a fix for this issue for our next release. Keep an eye out on your dashboard for the next available update, and we’ll also post again here once that’s available. Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Fatal Error on updating to 6.0.2Hi folks! We just released The Events Calendar 6.0.4 (and Events Calendar Pro 6.0.3). We fixed quite a few errors in this release, and it may have solved this issue as well. Please update and let us know if you’re still seeing the issue. If so, we’ll prioritize it for an upcoming release. Thanks!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Perfect plugin for calendar! Thanks so much bashiachuki! I’m delighted to hear you like the new design and features.
Hi there salamasalem,
Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback. You’ve hit on a number of features that we’re currently working towards but as you observed, are not yet included in the plugins. One of the exciting things about our recent TEC 6.0 release is that the foundational changes we made there pave the way for other long-requested features like tickets for recurring events. I wrote an article here laying out our plans, and we also have a public roadmap.
We’re currently experiencing a higher-than-usual support load, but I confirmed that we’ve received your inquiries. I appreciate your patience while dig into your reported issues, and I hope we’ll be able to turn things around for you and your site.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] GoodbyeHi Paul,
I’m sorry to hear you don’t like our new calendar view designs. One thing that we improved on in the views update is overall customizability We have significantly more options available through the WordPress Customizer and an improved templating system so that folks have more options than ever for styling the views. So it’s always an option to adjust the new designs to meet your needs and match your site. If you’re interested, this is a good resource to get started: https://evnt.is/1bb9.

Leah
