I think they Deleted the old ai1ec without ftp removing the uninstall.php file. If you/they delete that file before using the plugin delete they wouldn’t lose the data.
May need to reinstall the 1.? version and restore the db backup, then
1) ftp to the wp-content>plugins>all-in-one-event-calendar folder
2) Delete uninstall.php
3) Do a normal Plugin uninstall/install process: Deactivate, Delete, Install New 2.0.6After I learned about the delete uninstall.php trick the upgrade to 2.0.6 has worked several times for me without a hitch
Sounds like this might be related to my problem that the Click to Toggle doesn’t work to expand/contract the edit-side input blocks (Event Details, Discussion, Tags, Featured Image, etc). If I disable ai1ec the toggles work, but the Event Details block has defaulted to contracted so I can’t access the Date/Time, Venue, Cost, Contact fields in the Event Details block. Unfortunately I haven’t found a solution to this major problem. Any suggestions?

In reply to: [Form Manager] Input text is invisiblePerfect, thanks for tracing it down. Not sure how you did that or how it happened in the first place, but I was able to change the CSS in Weaver II and it works beautifully. I really appreciate your quick response… and the simplicity of your plug-in.

In reply to: [Advanced Editor Tools] TinyMCE 4.0.1 Text Editor WP 3.9Go to Settings>>TinyMCE Advanced and add the Paste As Text icon to the icon bars. Then when editing click the Toolbar Toggle icon and you should be able to find the icon. It’s also under the Edit dropdown menu, just below the Paste function.

In reply to: [Grid Columns] Doesn't work with WP 3.9Looks like the overlap was due to the sizing of the slider added to the page. However, changing the size of the slider pushed it down the page, ignoring the Grid Columns shortcodes.

In reply to: [Grid Columns] Doesn't work with WP 3.9Sorry about that, you’re right. I meant to be on the GridPix page.
Grid Columns does work fine, except that it doesn’t seem to honor the widget areas in Weaver II theme. This probably should be a separate report, but Grid Columns seems to consider the entire page as it’s boundary area, so widgets overlap column content.
https://test.mtadamschamber.com/home-test/Same here. I get to the Edit window but can’t place the cursor, none of the tabs respond, none of the editing tools respond. Tried turning off all other plugins but it didn’t help.
Previously constructed pages still work, but the Pix window doesn’t show the grids so they can’t be modified.
Deactivating the plugin causes all grid blocks to stack vertically and centered, so a 1×3 (row x column) grid becomes a 3×1. Returns to 1×3 when the plugin is reactivated.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] New "upgrade" missing a .php fileTried it on another site and got error codes:

When I tried to update the themes I get an additional error:

FTP showed that all the files were present in the plugins folder.Somewhat different errors plastered at the top of the webpages:

No idea what all this means but the errors are plastered everywhere. To deactivate I had to change the plugin name via FTP since trying to do it through WP Dashboard kept spawning errors and wouldn’t deactivate the plugin. What a mess!

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] New "upgrade" missing a .php fileDid a database restore and got back to 1.10.9, but still don’t have the fields for When, Where, Cost, and Contact, which makes it impossible to place an event in the Calendar. What can I do to get those back?
Sorry, I’m wrong about missing fields. The section was collapsed and I didn’t recognize the different appearance of the collapsed section.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] New "upgrade" missing a .php fileNow I’ve tried to revert to 1.10.9 and when I try to activate I get
Plug-in disabled due to unrecoverable database update error
Database update has failed. Please make sure, that database user, defined in wp-config.php has permissions, to make changes (ALTER TABLE) to the database.
I really dislike having to do your testing for you, then spending hours trying to restore a broken site.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] New "upgrade" missing a .php fileDid exactly as described and got this error message:
The plugin generated 3537 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin. It appears there is something wrong still.Sorry, I’m wrong about missing fields. The section was collapsed and I didn’t recognize the different appearance of the collapsed section…Now the Edit page no longer has the fields for When, Where, Cost, and Contact, which makes it impossible to place an event in the Calendar. If I’m not mistaken, that is the whole point of this plugin.
Hi David,
What I’m saying is that the backkups are written to a folder at the public_html level, the same level where WP is installed. It just seems odd that the plugin can FTP access that location for writing but can’t read what it has written there.
I assume that the way the restored and newer versions are lost each time a restore is done indicates that the backups are also stored in the database. Restoring a database that doesn’t yet include its own backup would account for the regression I was seeing.
My question was: could the plugin read the backups if they were stored in the wp-content folder? I think your answer indicates they should be read, so why don’t you recommend or build that storage location into the plugin?
The backups are in the folder that the plugin has been pointing and writing to all along. And that folder is in the same root as the WP installation. So it seems odd that the location is considered “remote storage” and that a rescan can’t identify all the backups that the plugin wrote into that location.
Would it make a difference and allow the plugin to find the backups if they were stored in a folder within the wp-contents folder, that is, actually a part of the WP install?
When all else fails…
Check out this solution (https://community.time.ly/forum/troubleshooting/general_aa/8847-do-not-upgrade-to-1-10-10), it seems to have worked for me
You will be FTP deleting BOTH the ai1ec plugin folder AND the themes-ai1ec folder. Then installing ai1ec back to 1.10.9. Brought everything back in line, correct dates and image links, EVERYTHING!
This plugin has a great looking display but the continued problems with it leave me very nervous. Unfortunately, moving to another tool involves significant work in resetting venues, images, and possibly other details.I thought that knowing we can deactivate the errant ai1ec plugin by simply changing the name and refreshing the plugins page, maybe we could reactivate the plugin and keep the site as is until we have some time to figure out an alternative.
Don’t try it… it reset ALL the ai1ec events to Dec. 31, 1969 at 4:33pm, broke all the links to images in the events, and scrambled something so that restoring backups doesn’t help.
