Is it possible to add a switch to the plugin that would allow me to choose between opening these links in a new tab or using the synchronous behavior?

In our case we’d prefer waiting for the synchronous call instead of opening our links in new tabs with no control over it.

Understood. So the problem is different than I thought.
Every dev box has access to the internet, it’s the other way around that is not available (connecting from the internet to our personal boxes).
So the activation should be working fine? It isn’t.

Since you don’t know about capistrano, forget about, it’ll only make a simple issue more complex ??
