Perhaps I should rephrase that to..

“Encourage” users to update the Codex.

(I admit upon review that empower was a poor choice of word for the intended meaning)

It’s a simple fact that a lot of folk simply don’t want to or don’t feel that they have the time to research their issues.

I personally feel that reading the Codex becomes futile because:
1) Its out of date
2) Its difficult to understand for the layman user, so they come here where they can say “I have no clue what youre talking about. Can you explain it in simpler terms?”

Funny you should mention that, I was just reading that.

I’m glad at least that this got someones attention finally.

How about updating the Codex so people don’t have to keep repeating questions in the Support Forums? Solve the source of the questions, not the symptoms of the problem.

A lot of the Codex is so completely out of date, much of it referencing 1.0 or 2.0 code that is no longer relevant. While its nice to keep old answers for 2.x.x software, give people an incentive to update to the newest code, thereby increasing site security, etc by removing out of date information. Its not like they can download the old 2.x.x code anyways!

Its extremely disheartening to see that the worlds most popular blogging software with one of the largest user bases anywhere, has hideously outdated documentation on its own site.

Empower users to be able to update the Codex.

This would be simple if the editor simply had a radio button setting to strip
or not to turn this function on and off.

I still cant get the watermark image to overlay on an album image. I tried running the watermark function under Manage Gallery, and the gallery preview does not show the watermark at all. The watermark image is a .jpg file.

Any suggestions?

I have not been able to get the “permanent” ones to work at all.

Neither type of watermark seems to show up. This is even after applying watermark in the gallery admin function drop down.

You can edit the event.css files to add a background color to your pages.

Install Firebug for Firefox to help find what css to edit.

I have this exact same issue. Im running WordPress 2.9.2 currently. Also didnt work on 2.9.1

@nv1962 Ive seen that link, but without any real coding background, those instructions arent of much use to the average plugin user ??

Is there any way to have the calendar just post all information (such as the full calendar?) into a page the same way editing a page posts to it? I end up with no post background (the site’s main background only shows) and no sidebar on my site.

Any help would be appreciated.

Id like to see a way for the Calendar to make 1 post and write to the calendar for multiple days. For example:

Some Event
March 1 2009 to March 10 2009

And calendar shows Some Event appearing on all those days.
