I do use the toolbar to align the image. The problem only happens with captions when trying to center the image.

I work around it in text mode by defining the image between two div tags. If I don’t do this, the image defaults to the left, but publishes correctly.

I have two screen shots.

1. Using the Gutenberg editor to align an image to the left, however, when I created a caption to align the image with, it would not align to the left properly under the image. The image used is only 125 x 169 px.

Important question:

When the WordPress Gallery is fully functioning with Gutenberg in the WordPress core, if someone wants to use the classic editor plugin to create a new post with a new gallery for that post, can they still create one using the classic editor that is created like they would now?

If the shortcodes for galleries are to be backward compatible, I would assume that you could also create galleries using the classic editor plugin enabled.

If not, this will be extremely confusing to people who still want to maintain their website using the classic editor.

When Gutenberg goes live, image galleries will only be able to be created using the Gutenberg editor?

Will old and new image gallery shortcodes be able to be supported together?

@pidengmor – Thank you for answering me.

Your answer makes perfect sense, but I just wanted to be sure. I think I also put this question on the TinyMCE Advanced forum. I will keep checking, but even if I could only use the Classic Editor plugin, I would still use it because my websites do not need to be changed for Gutenberg. The information on them is pretty static and they are not updated very often so I would prefer to maintain them as they are.

@marius84 – Thank you for telling me. I just tested it out on one of my testing websites and it is functioning the way it should.

Quite honestly, I don’t know if I’ll be using Gutenberg for a while because all my websites have static pages so they don’t change very often, but it’s nice to know that it’s there if I want to change.

I’m having the same exact problem and I’ve tested under the following conditions:
Theme: Weaver
Browser: Firefox

Theme: Twentysixteen
Browser: Firefox, Chrome

The left and right image alignment is fine, but there are issues with center alignment. It appears correctly in the visual editor, but when you publish the post and then view it, the image defaults to the left.

My Gutenberg version is 2.5.0 and I’ve been having this issue for almost two days.

The funny thing is that after further testing, I was able to successfully connect to other public Facebook pages with no problem, so maybe there is a problem with this Facebook public page and not the plugin itself. There doesn’t seem to be a conflict with other plugins and I don’t even have that many plugins to begin with. I tried deactivating it and reinstalling it, but it doesn’t help. It’s supposed to show 111 likes.

I also have this plugin installed on other websites and it does work, but it doesn’t seem to work for this Facebook page anymore.

Thanks so much for this fix. I tried it and it worked. I was about to replace this plugin because I just upgraded one of my websites to php 7 and that’s when it broke. I just happened to stumble upon your fix and decided to try it. What did I have to lose? Maybe I’ll get a little more life out of it now. I hope the plugin author sees this and will maybe come back.

What do you mean by deprecated? I have several sites using this plugin and I need to know if it will definitely be continued to be maintained. Please let us know.

If you say you are developing a completely new plugin, will it still have the same functionality as before and will it be tested to make sure it will be compatible with the new version of WordPress to be released soon?

I noticed an improvement when I made a change in the settings and unchecked the box under the Advanced tab –>Advanced Form and Email Settings where it said, “Enable sender information in email footer” which was already checked when I upgraded the plugin. After I retested, the email that was going to spam went to my inbox.

I will keep testing, but in testing sending the mail to a different email address, the plugin seemed to send everything to my inbox the way it used to in the past.

I don’t know if I totally solved the issue, but at least it’s improved.

I’m actually more concerned with the upload on the PC. Should I keep trying to recreate the issue? It just seemed to time out and not complete the upload. At the moment, it’s ok. I don’t have many plugins on this particular site. I don’t really need TinyMce except to create tables which I could do by coding my own html. Has anyone reported any upload issues? I’m using the theme Weaver, which is excellent.

Never mind, someone on the Jetpack forum told me I need to activate the shortcode module to get it going.

Is it possible that the slideshow feature in gallery settings is only available in the regular Jetpack, not Slim Jetpack? I only have Slim Jetpack.
