Is there any other plugin that WordPress offers/recommends that would be similar to what the slider by Supsystic did?

In addition, when I am within WordPress, and look under Wordfence Security plug in which the person who developed the site put in, there is a message that says, “the plugin Slider by Supsystic has been removed by www.remarpro.com due to a critical issue found March 3, 2024 at 7:40am” It knows my website still has it installed, but maybe that is why it is not working properly. Odd that it will still work to delete an image. I just maintain my site with additions in sections, keeping things up to date, but as far as any coding or replacing different components, that would be beyond my knowledge.

thedrewseum, I just saw that there is a NextGen update from 3.54 to 3.55 which is supposed to correct some of the issues. Curious as to if you have installed this update with any issues? Ever since you told me that fix 3 days ago, and I did it, my site has been working perfectly. So I somewhat have the motto, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And if you did install it, did you have to push that images per page back to the default (which I think might have been 25). Thanks in advance for a response.

Incredible!!!!!! That worked. Thank you so much. This has relieved so much stress for me. I don’t know how you would have thought to do that. If anything, I would have thought increasing the number of images might have done it. But I am so appreciative!!!!!!

I generally use Firefox as my browser, but I’ve also tried it in Chrome, and it is not working in either.

I’ve checked a couple of times, including just now, and although it allows me to click and drag and save to a new position, it still does not hold the new position. All I can do at best, is add a new photo but it always puts it at the end. I’ve paid someone who is a web developer, familiar with this slider and WordPress and he can’t make it work either. It’s just not my website because it wasn’t working for him on his website either. Frustrating.

I followed up on my website a couple of times to see if there has been any fix so I can change the order of photos on my front page of my website. I have seen no change. I can still click on a photo, drag it to a new position, and see a message that the order has changed. I’ve made sure also to click save (even tried it without clicking it). But the photo reverts to the very last photo so no change is made. Any further ideas?

I’m experiencing similar issues, although I was warned in a short tutorial my web developer did for me, about there being 2 delete buttons. One is at the top of the images (which is used to delete an image), the other on the upper right which deletes the entire slider.

I had a website developer recently install Slider by Supsystic on my website. He put it there to replace a plugin that was being used on my home page that no longer worked when WordPress upgraded me to 5.9.3. Although I noted on the details of Slider by Supsystic not being tested beyond 5.8.4, it seemed to be working fine. That is, until I tried to rearrange the images. Every time I added a new image and moved it to any other position but the last position, and saved the change, I received a message that it took. But when I would look at the preview and look at my website, that image was back at the very last position. The website developer also tested it and said he found the same thing. I’ve noticed others saying they have had this issue with the plugin and image rearranging. The process I used, was to put a check in the box next to the image, click and drag it to the position I wanted, then click save at the upper right.

I like the ease of use of this slider since I’m not familiar with coding, etc. (which is why I hired the web developer to solve my home page issue), but it would be fantastic is the click and drag feature worked.

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide to make it work correctly.

Yes, at the bottom of my website, there is a white envelope which connects you to my email. If you’d rather by phone, you can send the email and then I’ll give you the phone. Hate to just put it on the post. Thanks.

Sorry, no, that is the coding that I used to have to add when the Bainternet was still active, which is no longer and was replaced by ezTOC.

Not sure why they are not showing in the message:

It looks like the links didn’t show:

Here are the screenshots. I misspoke in a prior message where I said all of the TOC were done the same. In reviewing them again, trip 2020 and 2017 had both the Insert TOC and h2 boxes CHECKED. All other trips (2018, 2015-2009) the boxes were UNCHECKED. Ultimately by appearance, none of them show a TOC as of 3/17/2020.

As to your second question, I don’t know. He did the conversion in September 2019. I do know, prior to his change, when I would create a new post, I was told I had to add a shortcode [—ATOC—] and next line add [—TAG:h2—]. I never questioned it because I really don’t know coding. I do know after the change to Easy TOC, and when everything was working, a couple of newer versions of WP came down which were automatically installed on my website. I would get an email when it was done and I think it was the hosting company that pushed it down but I’m not 100% sure on this.

Sorry for the long explanation, but since I basically have only added info to my website via somewhat cookbook instructions, and don’t understand the lingo well, I try to be as clear as possible. Laurena

When a web developer worked on my site to replace the other outdated TOC plugin, he was the one who enabled or disabled the boxes. After he was finished telling me that your Simple TOC was installed, I totally checked my site and all the TOCs that were showing through Bainternet, were still showing in Simple TOC. And all the site pages that had TOC continued to show them through March 17th. When I went to look at one of the posts on March 19th, that is when the TOCs in every part of the site where they had been, were now not showing. But I hadn’t changed any settings.

In looking for instance at https://laurenajenkinshoffmeyer.com/laurena/africa-2020-itinerary-and-favorite-photos/

I can see at the end of my post where I work on it in WordPress, the Insert Table of Contents box is checked and the h2 Headings box is also checked. This is true for each of those travel reports.
