I’m at a loss for why the original code stopped working, too, but I’m glad the footer is hidden successfully again!

Oh, that’s strange! None of that footer code actually changed in this latest update — the theme originally counted the widgets to figure out how many columns it should use, we just updated the function that did that.

I tried installing Remove Footer Credit on my test site, and with v 2.0.9, copy-pasted what you have above in the Step 1: Enter text/HTML to remove (one per line) field, and it did hide the footer.

In the footer.php, it does have a social menu that appears after <div class="footer-bottom-info "> only if you have one assigned — I can’t imagine why that would start being an issue when the theme was updated, but can you try to switch the text to hide to the following and see if it helps?

This is a bug — the new styles were intended to help the blocks better match how the theme looks, but it should still respect the settings you pick for things like buttons.

I’ve made a ticket for it here, and will be working on a fix:

If I use the iOS simulator to remove the custom CSS workaround locally, it looks like this for me:

That’s probably not a perfect match for what you see on your phone without the CSS, but if it’s quite different can you please post screenshots again and I can take another look?

Could you also trying clearing the cache under Settings > Safari, just in case it’s being a bit aggressive? Thanks!

Once you’ve updated to the newest version of the theme, the Custom CSS workaround should be removed — otherwise it may cause display issues.

Kathryn is right – this problem was being caused by a bug in Lodestar. We’ve added a fix, and it’s now available in Lodestar version 1.4.
