FYI, the following is the mesage I am consistently receiving each time I attempt to update R.S. manually or via WordPress:

    Updating Plugin Revolution Slider (1/1)

    Downloading update from https://updates.themepunch.com/revslider/download.php?name=LaScorpia70&api=i65h56xxn6egn5lhf52m1psrcp9hrs5d&code=962a2aba-4dcf-49fa-9157-84db41acde09…
    Unpacking the update…
    Installing the latest version…
    Plugin update failed.

An error occurred while updating Revolution Slider: The package could not be installed. The package contains no files.

    WP Dev Shed,

I was attempting to repair my slider on both my Windows as well as Mac machines…I have multiple. Additionally, I did disable all of my plugins attempting to determine if any of those were adversley affecting my sliders. In the end I ended up having to switch out my entire theme. Once I did that (because the theme I had originally purchased could not be updated (thinking that might rectify the issue), my sliders worked again.

So, right now, my sliders are all working once more; however, I am still faces with the fact that I cannot seem to get Revolutions Sliders to upgrade to its latest version…automatically or manually. I have worked through all of the online materials, and upon requesting assistance via email, I merely received the exact same information that I found online. In my frustration, the sliders are currently still being used on my site, but I will be discussing with my stakeholders that we need to phase them out solely unless somehow, someday, I manage to get the darned thing to upgrade to a more current version. I am sadly stuck in version 4.6.5.

I agree and expected as much myself…we took pains to be sure to select a new template carefully and in the end, it was truly quite a simple exercise…but largely because we put the time in up front and made careful decisions.

Folks, I hate to be the potential bearer of bad tidings, but I had to step back and update my whole site with a newer template to resolve this issue. The slider plug-in would not update automatically, nor manually…through my process of systematic elimination to the root cause as to why the plug-in was no longer working properly, it turned out that the template was the problem, which was triggered by the install of the latest WordPress platform update.

If anyone else finds a less drastic solution, I am all game to try it, but thought I should share my findings here with those who are running into the exact same issue I have been having.

Sorry folks…late last night, I finally came to believe that the theme that was being used (no longer supported) in the end was the culprit. The media library was simply not being recognized and I couldn’t find where to fix it.

I so very much appreciate the feedback…apologies for not have closed this before I passed out asleep. I will be looking forward to the next time I need help from you kind folks! ??

Am having the same issue on my sire as well…happened when I ran the most recent upgrade to WordPress. ?? But it isn’t just affecting my slider, no images from my media library are appearing live on any browser.
