    Hi AItpro,

I’m aware there isn’t any order, lets say base on what you wrote earlier and latest,

    1) Transfer to dummy content to a new site, except for the BPS root htaccess file (in your WordPress installation folder – same folder as the wp-config.php file) and the BPS wp-admin htaccess file (in the wp-admin folder).
    2. Go to BPS Custom Code and edit any custom htaccess code that needs to be changed/edited if necessary.
3). Run the Setup Wizard. (enable Root and wp-admin BulletProof Modes on live site)

If now the question change to the live and development site is one single one, no separate development site.

    1) Install wordpress,
    2) install the bullet proof plugin and activtate it
    3) Go to BPS Custom Code and edit any custom htaccess code that needs to be changed/edited if necessary.
4). Run the Setup Wizard. (enable Root and wp-admin BulletProof Modes on live site)

    5) make changes to the websites

    6) I will add any NEW custom htaccess code.

    7) (do I run the set up wizard again or which part do I update?)

Question 1) : Is the order right if my question is development and live site is single one?

Question 2a) do I run the set up wizard again or which part do I update? ( if no new htaccess code added)

question 2b) do I run the set up wizard again or which part do I update? ( if new htaccess code added)

Sorry to hijack of this review, for the UI i admit its not the most beautiful and simple UI but for the amount of information, tips and options to push all in it, its already very simplified UI.

It has some serious improvement over the past 2 years, like one click install, previously users need to manually select the option to secure certain area.

And AITpro teams has one of the best support for the free plugin in the www.remarpro.com despite the plugin is quite technical. And they are willingly to explain step by step and no matter how silly the question is.

They don’t spend time on marketing or fancy UI, rather spend time on answering the support forum to pros and new users and making the product works very well for all time, it isn’t easy.

    Hi AITpro,

Thanks for pointing it out, what i mean its I’m creating the site on the domain, no development site needed to transfer. What is the best approach for it then?

How would the steps be like? (copied pasted above)

    1) Install and run bulletproof plugin, the Setup Wizard. (enable Root and wp-admin BulletProof Modes on live site)
    2) Go to BPS Custom Code and edit any custom htaccess code that needs to be changed/edited if necessary.
    3) Creating the design content and install theme and plugins for the site, except for the BPS root htaccess file (in your WordPress installation folder – same folder as the wp-config.php file) and the BPS wp-admin htaccess file (in the wp-admin folder).
    4) Run the Setup Wizard again. (enable Root and wp-admin BulletProof Modes on live site)

    Hi ATIPro,

What if it isn’t a cloned site or an old site, its just a dummy site to create the design then transfer all content including design to the live site?

    1) Transfer to dummy content to a new site
    2. Go to BPS Custom Code and edit any custom htaccess code that needs to be changed/edited if necessary.
3). Run the Setup Wizard. (enable Root and wp-admin BulletProof Modes on live site)

or any other steps u think its good to include or edit or do if you were me?

qns1) so for style.css it wont change too, right?

Qns2) I thought any themes and plugin if we modified it, when its install new update, it will like past a new series of files overwrite the old, and delete old plugin and themes files other than style.css?

    Thread Starter lagoongear

    (@lagoongear)

qns1) So can we say that update of the worpdress version, theme and plugin has nothing to do with the bulletproof settings at all?

qns2) This include the bulletproof caching feature too?

So as long its on wp-config.php ( in my case is increase total ram use) it will be fine when next wordpress auto update, right?

    Thanks!

    (@lagoongear)

    So if i go to wp-config.php define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

it will not have any changes? I read somewhere if there is customise changes to wp-config, it will reset when auto update.

    Thanks Tim

So in other words, due to the some protection has been set up in the website I was talking, chances of being attack is much lesser.

Though some actions still must be taken if the website wants it to be safe.

Unless there is special reasons or REAL plain bad luck, the website is consider “safe”to a some degree due to the set up website had.

    Background information:
the website has long string of password and non default admin username.
    set up basic bulletproof protection
login has change to custom url, (though i read before somewhere that you said it’s useless actually)

Please correct me if I understand it wrongly from your replies.

    Thanks for the explanation.

P.S. I gave a 5 stars review, it hopes it helps abit in some way ??

    Hi ATIpro,

Thanks for the quick reply and the resources.

From your reply, if i’m not wrong, if i follow the steps, it will add extra bonus to prevent XML blow up attack.

My question is more like, if a website is still using 3.9.1, earlier already has bulletproof basic up (non pro version), protection of the .htacess etc set up.

Is it still vulnerable to the XML Quadratic Blowup Attack? (without the XML-RPC DDoS PROTECTION Bonus Code in the link given)

Thanks Manos for the explanation, it’s much clearer!! ??

    So Manos,

in other words, my understanding of # is wrong. by input # as custom menu link, because there is no #id e.g #service etc. it will just jump to top.

However, the #top is built in in all html or wordpress at least? (I’m curious this #top is built in wordpress or html standard)

    Thank you so much again!

    Hi Janet,

    Thanks for the explanation.

But if i have a sticky menu, or a link i wish to go back to home,
I could put # as the custom link url, it will jump to the top right?

Previously, i tried “/” didn’t work, but by putting “#” only it works.
