In reply to: Making Child Pages managed by the WordPress as CMSThis thread is resolved. The slug was the end of the permalink for the corresponding category.

In reply to: Making Child Pages managed by the WordPress as CMSI did when you asked the first time, 40 some minutes ago. It is above your …. and that structure is? question.^^^
I am using custom permalink structure.
This is why I inquired if the slug was the end of the permalink for the category.

In reply to: Making Child Pages managed by the WordPress as CMSYes, I understand that pages do not have categories, that only posts do.
Let me try to be more clear.
Does a category itself…have it’s own permalink?
If the category has it’s own permalink, then I can make a text-link on one of my pages. So that if a person clicks on it…then it will take them directly to that category of posts.
My problem now, is that I do not know what the permalink to a given category will be, which is why I asked if the slug for the category becomes the end of it’s permalink…because I don’t see where the permalink to the category is displayed so that I can create a text-link to it.

In reply to: Making Child Pages managed by the WordPress as CMSSo is the slug to a category a permalink?
I can take a first level page and make text links on it to a category, so that when a person is on the Lebanon, Missouri page, if they click the Appliances text-link it will take them to the category that I linked the text to? And there it would display all of the posts in that particular category, right? If that is so, then that is perfect.
Sorry I am asking, but if someone knows already, it saves me the trouble of going through all of it and it not working.

In reply to: Making Child Pages managed by the WordPress as CMSI have read this entire link already. It does not tell me how to connect them to a page so that it displays several posts at once all under a category where you can make the category clickable from a first level page. I HAVE to have them organized a certain way and this does not tell me how to do it.
Unless, this is saying that a post works exactly the same way as the pages do in a parent page-child page fashion, except under categories instead of parent pages.
That is what I am not understanding. How to properly organize the posts onto a page inside a category that can be placed as a clickable link off of a first level page.

In reply to: Making Child Pages managed by the WordPress as CMSI don’t know how to do that.
I have a first level page named Lebanon, Missouri.
This page has a list on it of categories such as (for example);
appliances
girls accessories
furniture
I created a child page for each of these categories and on this page, I intended to use the CMS so that I could add posts several times a day if needed, to display on each category page.
So, I cannot do that? I have read a lot about the difference between posts and pages…but I need a category of posts to all be displayed together on one page under a specific category and I am not finding what I need to tell me exactly how to do that.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Not Receiving Email w/Data from Contact Form 7By George…after 3 days of reading instructions and trial and error, I do believe I have finally gotten it. Thanks anyway!

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Not Receiving Email w/Data from Contact Form 7I have figured out the main issue. It has nothing to do with my computer, local configuration, or my server.
The problem was the corresponding email tags for the form. Now that I have figured out that part of the problem and fixed it, I have all the fields rendering in the email properly except for the….check boxes, radio buttons, drop down menus, and file upload fields. These special fields are not rendering input information to me in the email sent from the form.
While I have read and followed the Contact Form 7 instructions religiously for setting up the email portion of the settings…I am still not able to get the information correct in order to render these specific fields properly.
I am not able to do the correct tags for the EMAIL portion of the set up. From the CONTACT>EDIT menu of the plug-in in WP.
Before you post the link for the instructions or for troubleshooting…I have them, and I have followed them over and over. I am either missing an essential step or letter or putting an extra space or something…or I am not understanding the instructions properly in regards to these special fields. I am trying, I just am not seeing it.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Not Receiving Email w/Data from Contact Form 7I don’t know what you mean by “local configuration”. I see nothing in the link you posted that corresponds to my problem.

In reply to: Adding WebForm to WP site, Twenty-Thirteen themeI have installed this plug in and have a basic form displayed in my site now. I am working on customizing the form. I am having trouble understanding the customization instructions, should I create a new post in the plug ins section of the forum or continue posting here?
This is an excellent plug in, thank you so much for directing me to it.
