Yes I did speak to my web hosts and they didn’t have a solution.

However, thanks to the user Chemusic in the link below I now have the solution. Basically many hosts are set up to handle mail locally on the domain by default which causes the problem if your email is hosted remotely. In my case I went to Plesk and unchecked the box for “Activate mail service on this domain”

I just used https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/ then uploaded fresh files of the JS files that were affected. Problem solved. Changed all passwords also.

I have had the exact same problem today on 2 separate sites on separate servers.

Yes the database is backed up. I have checked the database and it includes all my posts but the problem is they are not showing in wordpress admin or on my blog.

Thanks, but from reading that, I think I have reinstalled by mistake. Is there anyway I can retrieve my old posts?
