Hi thanks for checking – I think I did try WP_DEBUG mode at some stage. I don’t think it enlightened me at all. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to chase this anymore at present, since I have a workaround (which, again unfortunately, was essentially to stop using your plugin!).

I’m pretty sure you’re right and it’s something at out end, since everything was working fine and it all broke when IT changed our firewall. I just thought I’d make you aware in case it was something obvious.

Hmmmm…. trying this it now seems like CF7 Smart Grid Design Extension is causing the problem. That I can work around, since I imagine I can replicate the grid layout stuff in base CF7 with a little bit of effort. I can raise it with their devs too.

The theme is a child version of UnderStrap. Plugins are:

I used the deactivate plugins and themes technique to find that the problem lies in some sort of interaction between Visual Composer and Flamingo. If I deactivate either then my form response is properly received and the form displays the “success” message. Otherwise, just the spinning circle forever (the form itself is working and sending the email, we’re just not getting the response).

Oddly it works for me in Chrome but not Edge. For everyone else it doesn’t work in any browser. I don’t mind a code fix or workaround – I just don’t know what it should be!

Hmm…it seems that Visual Composer and Flamingo are not playing nice ??

It’s some strange interaction. With nothing but CF7 and Flamingo and the default theme it works. CF7 and Flamingo and my theme works. But with everything enabled, it seems to only work when I disable Flamingo. I’m working through deactivating everything else one by one.

I disabled everything and worked them back in – it’s Flamingo giving me the issue.

Theme is a modified (child) Understrap. Plugins (none of which are new since the form last worked correctly):

It’s a Contact Form 7 linked to WP Mail SMTP.

Hi – I appreciate your time with this, and realise it’s not necessarily your problem, but I don’t think that is going to help. I already find that clearing the cache clears the problem – so disabling the plugins and clearing the cache will likely also clear the problem. Compounding this, the problem seems somewhat random – after some period of working just fine, it crops up again. Unfortunately, I can’t leave the site under the default theme waiting to see if the problem reoccurs. For the same reasons it would be impractical to enable each plugin one-at-a-time to see if one in particular is the cause.

I may have to think of another approach. Perhaps changing my reCAPTCHA keys or ‘downgrading’ to v2.

Hi – just on the linked page. There is only one form on the site and that’s it. It will all seem to be working fine, and then suddenly (for reasons I’m trying to figure out) the “Submit” button seems to stop working – causing it to just “spin”. I’m somewhat guessing that it’s related to the reCAPTCHA, because I can’t think of anything else that would interrupt the form submission.

Nevermind – a manual reinstall seems to have fixed things ??
