Hi Michael, excellent, thanks, will do, I’m pretty curious myself about what’s not working as it should [but I’m super confident that it can be resolved so I’m still creating more CPT entries!] ??
Hi again Michael – I’ve never made any changes at all to my theme’s functions.php or any other file, nor do I use a child theme, your plugin is my first foray into custom post types in any regard, there are no custom post types created or registered anywhere else other than the 3 that I’ve created with your plugin. This issue with not displaying the CPT entries in their associated category term archive is common to the numerous entries in each of the 3 different CPTs that I’ve created…
Hi Michael,
Yes the only ‘Built-in Taxonomies / Add support for available registered taxonomies’ that I have checked on each of my 3 CPTs is Categories (WP Core).I mentioned the ‘post count’ that’s visible on the Category ‘admin page’ as a curiosity more than anything – maybe it’s cached but I’ve never found it anything other than a 100% accurate reflection of the number of post entries associated with that Category term, and also including the number of associated page entries, as I use the ‘Add categories to pages’ plugin, which shows pages in the category term archive with no problems at all. I thought that there may have been a conflict with the ACTP plugin causing the CPT entries to somehow not display so I deactivated it temporarily but this did not result in CPT entries being displayed on their associated archive page…
I have a ‘highly categorised’ site, 156 terms in the Category taxonomy (!) and which form the basis of my menu structure. I’m not confusing display types or URLs when I’m not seeing CPT entries on their associated category term archive page. What I’m seeing on the archive pages is ‘normal’ post entries associated with the term but not CPT entries… And because my site is so ‘categorised’, it’s a major issue for me that CPT entries aren’t displaying!
Any suggestions?
Thanks, KylieHi Michael, unfortunately I can’t provide any links, my site can only be viewed by registered subscribers. Can you tell me what might be causing this / what you’d be looking for and I’ll see if I can find it? It’s not just one category, I have created 3 CPTs and the entries in all 3 have various WP core category terms attached, none of the CPT entries show on any of the category term archive pages. What they also don’t do is show up in the ‘posts count’ of the term on the admin page for category terms – ie category term X has 2 entries associated with it, one a post and one a CPT – only the post entry is counted on the category admin page, showing 1 entry associated with it, instead of the 2 that actually are…
