Ok, I solved it. The problem was “Blog pages show at most ___ posts”. I had set it to 5, but moving it back up to 10 fixed the problem.

I’m closing this post because it is not the problem I’m having.

I just published a post 2 days in the past and it showed up on the homepage just fine.

Hmmm. TBH I’ve only tried Bluehost and now GoDaddy, and there are some things I like about both. Is there one you recommend?

Well, you can rest easy. The site crashed again and UpdraftPlus was not even activated.

The error message was “Error establishing database connection” and it was that way on both the front and back end. The back end had a longer message, but it was essentially the same.

I understand. It’s possible that it was a different plugin, however, UpdraftPlus is our only plugin that runs on a schedule, and none of our users were visiting the site when it went down.

The last time that it went down, we just reinstalled a fresh site and I restored from UpdraftPlus’s backup.

Ok, here’s the latest log. I’m not sure if this includes the problem, however, because our host had to restore the mySQL database from their backup after the problem occurred.
