Just found out the problem is caused when the “Yet Another Star Rating” plugin is activated… must be a compatibility issue between those plugins!?

@marius, it solves the problem of the ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS when you login.

When you disable ModSecurity in CPANEL, it solves the issue. Some say you have to disable rules #214620 & #214940 server side.

Try disabling ModSecurity in CPANEL. Some says that you have to disable rules #214620 & #214940 in ModSecurity, if you can’t do it in CPANEL, you have to check with your host.

Modifying PERMALINKS to PLAIN works around the problem. But it doesn’t solve it.

It’s definitly a update issue.

Ok, just found a website that I never installed Lockdown-wp-admin plugin that have the same too many connections issue. So it has nothing to do with that particular plugin.

Hi! I own about 20 websites and I have the same problem on most of them. What I think may be a clue, is that all website with the error I was using Lockdown-WP-Admin plugin. But even disabling this plugin and/or all plugins, I still have the error when login into my websites.

A temporary work around is once login, you go back on your frontpage. Then, you click on the Themes and not Dashboard and you get into the dashboard.

This is weird, if you click on Dashboard, it gives the too many connection error.

This issue is due to the WordPress 4.4.1 update for sure and some problem with maybe a previous plugin installation like Lockdown-wp-admin.

All other websites that I never installed Lockdown-wp-admin seems to work fine….

Ok, I really think it’s a problem with Cloudflare caching… I’ve paused the websites I had problems and wait about 20 minutes and now it’s working again. So if you have that issue and use Cloudflare, try pausing your website for a while and try again!

Just erase cache in the browser, it solves it!

Weird, after 2 weeks of working ok, I got the same problem now this morning… I don’t get it.

Ok… so I came back to my website this morning and the visual editor is now working… I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I disabled CloudFlare yesterday?

I have one other website that is still doing the same problem. I’ll pause it on CloudFlare and see if it solves the problem…

OMG, after hours of trying things I found the solution.

1. Delete the wp-config.php file
2. Go to your https://www.domaine.com website.
3. Use the installation to recreate the wp-config.php file.
4. Tada! Works!
