Just a heads-up to y’all using WordPress with comments enabled.

Not sure if I’m the first one to notice this (I sure couldn’t find any discussions on this when I searched), but WordPress has an unaddressed duplicate content issue when you enable comments on your site

In a nutshell, if you get enough comments on a given page, you’ll end up with a duplicate page (bad for SEO) where the continuing comments are the only fresh content

I will be looking for a solution for this in the next couple of days, but if you know how to address this, drop a line below

Go to Settings/Discussion in your admin panel and uncheck “Break comments into pages.”

Thank you for your reply; I actually thought of that.

Unfortunately that is bad for SEO for entirely different reason – endless page length slows down the loading speed.

Granted, nowhere near as bad as duplicate content.

Given a choice of non-stellar-but-not-that-bad-either workaround and no solution whatoever, changing that setting is actually a good idea

    Thank you!
