In reply to: Custom Theme Built on Underscores Suddenly Asking For UpdateWell there goes 10 hours of my life!
Lesson learnt… Rename themes and don’t use the same theme name across all sites!
If anyone can shed any light on what’s happened here, it would be greatly appreciated.
I’m struggling to believe a theme can update to a different theme, purely due to sharing the same name. I would have thought some sort of unique token would have been used.

In reply to: Custom Theme Built on Underscores Suddenly Asking For UpdateI’ve just discovered this is a bigger issue…
I use MainWP to push updates and it’s basically deleted the theme on all my live sites!
Fun times ahead…This seems to be the theme that it’s updated to…
https://snag.gy/Vf1BuM.jpgI’m now going to go about renaming my themes to something more unique.
I don’t understand how the theme update process works, but this seems like a flaw to me. If I see a company with a custom theme and create a theme with the same name and published it to the theme repo, could I potentially get my theme installed on their site?

I didn’t know at that point, duplicate accounts weren’t allowed.- This reply was modified 5 years, 6 months ago by kwebdesign.
Thanks for your reply…
I’ve tested out the free version and I’m having the same problem as the “Livemesh Addons for Elementor” plugin.
It appears the “Ele Custom Skin” add-on only works with Elementor default widgets.
I’ve just realised that I can’t mark this as resolved, because I posted it from my company account, which has since been closed down. I hadn’t realised duplicate accounts weren’t allowed.
I’ve since purchased Elementor Pro and this add-on worked a treat at allowing me to insert 3rd party share and like shortcodes into the post loop.
Unlike attempts with other plugins, the share and like buttons recognised the post element they were allocated to, as opposed to the just sharing or liking the page that displayed the feed of posts.
It’s worth noting that the Share options built into Elementor didn’t work they way I intended, but the Add To Any Share buttons worked great via a shortcode.
Big thanks to the developer for creating this great add-on!
For the benefit of anyone else experiencing a similar issue…
This was caused by the /wp-content/plugins/booking-system/framework/includes/class-session.php file. Comment out line 185 and 190 and everything should work fine.
There may be other updates released before this is fully resolved, so keep an eye out and re-implement the tweak if needed.
