ugh. nevermind. So i deleted the call to jquery in the header then went into the theme and deleted the jquery files. The button still isn’t showing up. The text shows, but not the logo. Any ideas of where I could be missing it?
I had already deleted the jQuery from the functions.php file, but I looked in the header and found this:
<?php wp_enqueue_script(‘jquery’); ?>
<?php if ( is_singular() ) wp_enqueue_script( ‘comment-reply’ ); ?>
<?php wp_head(); ?>that’s the only jquery reference. Just double checking because I’m technologically challenged in life and have a strong propensity for messing things up – is this what I should delete?
I updated to the latest jetpack version. Unfortunately it kills my next gen gallery, but oh well, share buttons are more important right now!
I’m sure this is overkill by now, but I have one last help question on this thread!
So after I changed the buttons back to the “official buttons” they finally started working! The only remaining issue that the Pinit button icon isn’t showing up. The words show up and it works, but now the icon isn’t showing up. Thoughts?
I’m posting this here since I think the issues are prob somehow related.
Thanks!
@jeremy – I deleted the old version of Query. Now a new window pops up and loads, but instead of loading facebook or pinterest, it reloads my page into a new window….So it appears that is an improvement, but still not taking me to the share site.
Hi Jeremy — Thanks for the response.
The link to the site is
https://www.adventurestonowhere.comTake a look at any of the posts to see the issue. Right now I still have the share buttons built into my theme activated because the publicize ones aren’t working. I’ve tried getting them to work with and without the buttons from my theme and the same problem persists. I click the share button and the page reloads back to the blog page.
I will try and figure out how to check on the jQuery version this evening. I’m using the Sexy Thrilling Theme and I’ve gone to other sites using this same theme and the publicize share buttons work.
Thanks again.
@gnr5 — did you delete the functions.php file in the NextGen plugin or in the jetpack plugin?
I switched themes twice and that didn’t fix the issue. I finally just updated to WP 3.5, and ironically I now have the old version of Jetpack, not the new one causing all the problems, and the issue is still happening.
I deactivated all plugins, but the galleries still don’t work. I haven’t tried completely deleting jetpack, but I’ll give that a shot tonight.
@kaichen – I tried the fix that you mentioned, problem still happening. I’ve messed around with the formatting a bit, I can get all the photos to show up in thumb nails on a page (not ideal) but even then, if I try clickong on them, the page just reloads with out loading a larger image. My page is showing the gallery thumbnails in the album, but I get the same issue as you when I click them.
I use godaddy for hosting and last week godaddy switched me to a Linux server (this is when I first noticed the problem) – this also coincided with the WP and Jetpack updates so I assumed the problem was related to one of those.
All my other data transferred correctly, but does anyone know if maybe changing to the Linux server could have caused the issue and if so if there are any fixes?
I’m having the same issue as you with the share buttons showing, but reloading back to my site in a pop-up window. Did you ever resolve this?
I’m still having this same exact issue. I can’t leave it on “new mode” because for some reason the share bottons don’t show up at all if I do this. Have any of you received any solutions for this issue?
