I would just be using the Workflows option, so I think the plugin is too big for what I need.

I know how to add custom code; I’ve actually added a URL fiel.
The problem is I don’t know how to make the submit button work so when I click on it, a mail is sent to the customer with the URL, and for it to update on the order details page so the customer can check it whenever they want.

URL Field

Yeah, the downloadable option won’t work in my case cause the URL will be generated ‘after’ the client buys the product. So at the moment of the purchase, that link won’t exist yet. Once the customer buys the product with the details they wish for their product, then will the vendor proceed to create that custom URL and send it to the customer.

Order notes could work, the problem is that it’s a one way only communication, and the seller would be able to write something else besides the URL, so it’s not ideal.

I would like to have a field specially designed for the URL.
