I would love to incorporate my ideas into this plugin but, unfortunately, I’m not a developer. So, if you have time to code this yourself, I would gladly use it as a feature. If not, I’ll still continue to use your plugin the way it is.

I also have the same problem on Windows. I’m using the Bitnami WordPress Stack. My permalinks are set to custom with the /category/ base stripped via Yoast SEO:

Can you add that function as a selectable option in the wpDiscuz Settings?

Let me explain. What I would like is to use the full URLs on social networks which doesn’t have a low character limit, but to use the short URLs on Twitter, so that there is more space left for the rest of the tweet.

To fully utilize Twitter’s 140 character limit.

Thank you, it is working. I somehow thought that that option is only for when we have a 3rd party shortlink plugin installed, like this one for example: Short URL. Can you change the tooltip of the ‘Use shortlinks already installed‘ to be clearer about it, because “Allows for shortened URLs to be used when sharing content if a shortening plugin is installed” seems like it requires a shortening plugin for it to work?

Also, it is possible to make the plugin count the number of shortened shares, while we use the normal permalink structure?

I have not tested it on my website yet. All I have done is checking out if it works by loading two URLs, the www.remarpro.com and the opensharecount.com.

These is the data that it shows:

You can see that the www.remarpro.com URL has a share count of 0, because the website needs to be authorized on OpenShareCount first. Share count for their URL is working, therefore I presume that it should work for any other authorized website.

Try adding this counter as an option in the plugin, with a note to authorize a website in order for it to work.

Can you also add an option to show maxresdefault.jpg, when the Try to force HD option is set to No HD (default)?

I have noticed that the Monarch still supports Twitter shares. Can you investigate how does that work and incorporate it into this plugin?
