when look at those guides, if you’re an experience coders, you *might* feel a little overwhelm w/ pages just to show 1 simple task of installing wordpress; however, if you’re a novice programmer or especially non-coders, you would appreciate very-simple-step-by-step-with-screenshot tutors as these guides aim to help those wampserver beginners ??

btw, if you’re stuck, you can get help from wampserver forums; in additions, it’s a big benefit to play, I meant setup, wordpress and/or any other php scripts such as joomla, drupal, phpbb, mediawiki…, and have them all run at the same time, the way you want before actually upload to live host. Moreover, you can test to compare standalone wordpress with wordpress as add-on to joomla and/or drupal… to see which approach is better…

I mean too many things you can play with, and from there you can set it up on live host, or if it’s out of your permission, at least you know what to request your live host to setup for you

anyway, I think I might just go too far from the original error that you concern, so it’s your choice ??

if using windows, the better way is install wamp package, install wordpress, then play around w/ it until satisfy, and with this way, you don’t mess your live website

I was having same problem with my host but no problem to run same wordpress 2.8 with same theme on my local wamp as well as testing on my friend’s free host account. Since I’m running my own web server wamp for developing and testing, I’ve tried to lower a lot of different server settings in order to duplicate the error. Finally, found out that my wamp is always update to latest version of apache, mysql, and php and my friend’s free hosting account is php5 w/ mysql5 while my host still mainly run on php4, and after switching to php5, the problem are gone. Thus, I finally can insert images into post as you can see here in my free templates website

So make sure to check with your host if they still runs php4, and ask them to switch to php5 for you ??

Finally, the problem is solved and the main reason is my host mainly use php4, and after switching to php5, I no longer have problem to insert images ??

actually, just find out that I can NOT upload any file that has filesize greater than 60KB but no problem when test 2.8 locally, so I will contact my host to see what wrong there

yes, already tried that, even 777 all the way to the root of wordpress folder just for testing ??

I’m back and actually remember what I did was creating a simple text line mimic More tag and add Hyperlink on it since adding Hyperlink on More tag never worked for me ??
btw, I did check the suggested contents and hope it would have some change in this version but unfortunately, I might overlook but I could not find what I’m looking for ??
