short update: I was testing with permissions 777 but still same issue. I created then a new sub-domain directly with PLESK and it worked then.
So I think somethig may be wrong with my ftp user…

we are using another plugin/solution now.
But it was our own server/template and there was no caching activated.
We used the shortcode.

Yes, the plugin definitely needs some love ??

I just added one line in the plugin code to add it as a shortcode:

File: rapidmail_plugin.php line 407 (just before register_sidebar_widget)

add_shortcode( 'rm_form', 'rm_widget' );

then add it with

[rm_form]

+1 for official shortcode.
I had to change the plugin to add the shortcode but that’s not ideal… my changes will be overwritten with the next update.

Could you make any progress on the issue?
I tried to fix it by myself with

icl_object_id($pageid, 'page', false);

but couldn’t get it working :-/
Would be awesome if you could implement it or provide a workaround.
We have a website with 130pages and are struggling with the translation/WPML now…
