Someone? Anyone? I don’t have any idea what to look for on this one. Does this work OK for anyone else?

In reply to: 3.3 auto upgrade does not indicate when finishedYes, as indicated above, I tried Twenty Eleven with no plugins active. Also, 2 different theme frameworks, genesis and thesis, and the only common plugin is akismet.

In reply to: 3.3 auto upgrade does not indicate when finishedA manual upgrade would most likely work fine and I can do that on one of the next ones, I am just bringing this up because the auto upgrades always worked without any issue previously and the first sites I upgrade are usually the most basic ones with nothing complex involved or lots of new plugins. Though nothing changed on my end with those sites, perhaps something changed on the WP side which affects the way the update page returns status.

In reply to: 3.3 auto upgrade does not indicate when finishedNew info. Since yesterday, I have upgraded to a brand new server. It was already scheduled, not because of this problem. I again tried to upgrade another WP site and the same issue occurred. The update page hangs even though the upgrade completed.
I am on a dedicated server with only my sites, about a dozen or so in all.
Again, previous to 3.3, all upgrades on all sites have gone without incident.

In reply to: Automatic Upgrade to 3.3 stalls indefinitelyI did but it went cold. Sorry for the interrupt.

In reply to: Automatic Upgrade to 3.3 stalls indefinitelySimilar to my problem where it stalls forever on “installing the new version …” except it actually does the install, it’s just that it hangs on the update page. If I click over to the dashboard, the install actually has completed. Four sites so far, all have same issue.
I know it sounds silly, but did you check to see if it actually completed?

In reply to: 3.3 auto upgrade does not indicate when finishedTried that. No plugins running, Twenty Eleven theme, update page still hangs on the “installing the upgrade …” step of the process, but the upgrade seems to have finished successfully. Site comes up and maintenance mode is off, I can log out, log back in, update posts, etc.
Something on the server? What should I look for?

In reply to: 3.3 auto upgrade does not indicate when finishedNo I didn’t. These upgrades were on 2 different sites, 2 different theme frameworks (genesis and thesis), and the only common plugin between the two sites is akismet. I’ll try another update and do the Twenty Eleven with no plugin route and see if it works.

In reply to: Stuck at unpacking updateAs I noted in another post, mine seemed to stick at “installing upgrade” even though it had actually finished. On the first site, I waited and waited and when I thought it was taking too long checked the site itself, I found it was already done. It has happened twice, now. I’m on a dedicated server with quite a few of my own sites so I guess I may just have to deal with it, unless I’m missing something.

In reply to: 58% cpu usageServer load on my dedicated server jumped immediately after upgrading to 2.84. I added super cache which doesn’t seem to help.
Working with the server crew at my ISP they said the CPU load goes up and then the server was dipping into swap space with physical RAM decreasing.
Zero problems before the upgrades.
Perhaps someone with deeper knowledge of WP could look at this issue since there are more than a few of us now reporting what appears to be the same problem.

In reply to: Error: Could not find template functionStill more info … if I choose not to use the rich text editor, the error goes away. Turn it back on, error returns.

In reply to: Error: Could not find template functionMore info … deleted everything and downgraded back to 2.0, error still comes up. It allows me to post but anytime I try to post or edit a previous post the error pops up. Something happened in the upgrade and going back to the previous version doesn’t clear it.

In reply to: Error: Could not find template functionJust upgraded from 2.0 to 2.05 and now I’m getting this error. Deleted and re-uploaded wp-includes js directory and still getting the error. Ideas?
