This is frustrating. It seems any semi-recent plugin doesn’t show up in the search page or from searching within WP 2.7. And pretty much any search term brings up the most popular plugins everytime. Can anything happen here?

This is also a problem for me…I know newer versions of plugins I have are in the repository, but I am not notified that they are there. Is this disabled in Beta?

Same here. Using 2.7-Beta2. A couple plugins have newer releases and I’m not getting a notification for them.

hmm…that’s unfortunate. I’ll have to go back and change a bunch of links in posts and that as well. I may just leave it with /2005/2005/ links for now until a patch is made…is a patch planned?

Yes, sorry I “fixed” the link structure on that page. (We’re expecting a baby any day now, so we’ve got lots of family and friends waiting for more pictures). However, all of those pages have the permalink structure of “/photo-gallery/2005/” as you indicated when clicking on the title of the page. I tested it on a fresh 2.5 install and received the same results. Do you have 2.5 running anywhere? If so, are you able to reproduce the problem? Thanks for looking into it.

So I did try it on a fresh install and am having the same problem there. It appears to be some sort of bug I guess. When permalinks are turned off you can get to the page by using ?page_id=4, but once permalinks are turned on I either get a 404 if the page is a parent or I get the parent page if it is a child.

Okay…I figured mine out. This website will show you how to do exactly what you want it to. If you only want it to do it on pages, rather than all posts, let me know, I’ll show you how I did it.

I could use help on a similar question…I’m wanting to disable trackbacks on pages only when a page is published. I’m having problems locating the action to do this, since it appears publish_page has been deprecated in 2.3. Any advice on how to a) find the hook for publishing a page (not just a post) and b) changing the ping_status to ‘closed’ when the page is published would be most helpful. Thanks.

I am unashamedly thread-hijacking here, but I am unable to post a new topic.
