Found it. The capability was under GF Addons/PayPal Checkout: Add-On Settings

Same here. I suspect it’s a bug due to the plugin trying to control update behavior as a setting for the plugin rather than by using the built-in WordPress plugin update setting. This allows them the flexibility to allow “minor” updates, but if you disable it completely the setting is not respected though.

I’m seeing a nearly identical error after restoring a site with Activity Log 2.8.3 on WordPress 6. In my case it’s a different plugin. Strangely, I’m still getting the fatal error even after deactivating all plugins. What did you do to address this fatal error for User Role Editor?

Sorry about funny quotes in my post. It’s not that way in my wp-config.php. The editor did not properly add a code block like it should on this forum.

As I mentioned, I tried that using the PublishPress Capabilities plugin. I also tried Members plugin. I don’t use “WPFront User Role Editor” on my sites, but it should be doing the same thing.

It’s definitely changing it when I define it in wp-config.php because as the admin I lose access. Even if I add that capability to the Administrator role I still can’t access it. As soon as I remove that line from wp-config.php it works again.

So far this is not working for me. I defined it in wp-config.php in the same area I have other things defined. I then added it as a custom capability using PublishPress Capabilities. I then granted that capability to the role for the user I’m testing with.

The end result is I don’t see the Settings menu at all and if I try to access the notification bar settings page I’m told access denied. Not sure what I’m missing. I’ve triple checked my work. Everything looks right.

Can this be implemented as a hook or only by defining in wp-config.php?

I guess it is working and I just wasn’t expecting the result you provide. If I zoom out far enough on the page I can see where it is changing content at the bottom of the page. I expected it to display a shortcode immediately below the drop down selection. It was extra confusing because I was looking for a shortcode to use for “Post Pending Review” and as I scrolled down the page I saw nothing that looked related. As I chose different options from the drop down and then scrolled down the page it also seemed like the same page content, but I guess it actually changes.

Weird. I still see no change to the page when selecting most things in the drop down. I tried a different browser and a different computer. The only message that pops up is this on some of them:
