Hello, unfortunately kiwiirc has been down for the last few weeks, for this reason the kiwichat plugin is not working, we don’t know how long the service will be down, we are not the owners of kiwiirc.

If you have your own irc server and it accepts the kiwiirc connection, you can try the kiwichat generator from the irc chat plugin, I hope it helps you until the services are fixed.

Hi @atvrequis with this plugin you can’t change themes, (because kiwiirc doesn’t provide other themes).

1 Can it be done? Of course yes (you have to have kiwiirc installed on your own server with your own themes).

2 To change the user’s real time you’ll have to do it from your own chat server.

3 Prohibit users from changing servers and channels (are you referring to something like that? I have another plugin just for the liberachat server called app-liberachat).

4 Option to use the WordPress username (it can be done of course but I don’t recommend it because most users use the admin name).

@shqiptarski try different ports for example: for plain-text connections chat.freenode.net:8000 or chat.freenode.net:+7070 for TLS-encrypted connections.

To connect to localhost you need to install kiwiirc and webircgateway

HOST irc.network.org:6667 signals webircgateway to connect to irc.network.org on port 6667 (+ before the port signifies TLS). This will only succeed if gateway = true in the webircgateway config, otherwise it will be ignored and a connection will be made to the configured IRC server instead.

hy @krushkov did you try putting: (colon:) for example irc.libera.chat:6667

A few notes:

If not set, the default port is 6667. If using SSL, 6697.
SSL can be provided by + before the port, or by using ircs:// instead of irc://
