  • Well, I sorta resolved this by just logging into my account at wordpress.com, clicking on Blog Stats, choosing my self-hosted blog in the dropdown box and clicking Switch. It then shows my stats. Not sure if this how it’s supposed to work, but … it works for now.

I resolved my issue by doing a complete reinstall of the latest version of WordPress.

Same issue here. I login to both my self-hosted wordpress blog, and my wordpress.com one and it just loads the wordpress.com dashboard with no stats.

Anyone have any clue what’s going on? This is on a brand new install of this plugin. My API key works fine with akismet…

The fix here is not what the OP asked about. He said he could not create a category… not that his categories are gone.

My categories never disappeared… I simply cannot add new ones. I tried the solution posted here even though my categories were intact, and this did not fix the issue.

When I try to create a new category I get the following error:

“Something strange happened. Try refreshing the page.”

If I try to create a post and add a new category in the side bar, I get the following error:

“Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /home/.****/****/****.com/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 1014”

All plugins are disabled and I still get this error.

    Any suggestions?

In reply to: I cant LOG IN!

It’s not fixed for me. Help!
I really don’t want to give up on this. I completely deleted the entire install of WordPress as well as deleted the MySQL table entirely. And I STILL can’t log in on a fresh install with a new table.
Emptied cache, deleted cookies, etc. What could this possibly be???

Yes.. tried everything. Emptied cache, cleared cookies, re-booted. Tried editing the login file, tried resetting the password in phpmyadmin, I even un-installed the entire thing and re-installed it. Can’t log in. I give up. ?? I was so hoping to convert my Greymatter blog to WordPress too.

This is exactly what is happening to me.. I’ve done a search and TONS of people are having this same problem… Where it the fix? Am I missing it??
    Please help!

I’m having the same problem. I’ve tried everything and nothing I do lets me back in. Am I just totally screwed? ??

I’m guessing wordpress is not for people who aren’t saavy with coding. I’m locked out and after reading all these posts on fixing buggy code, etc, I have no idea what to do to fix this. I tried going into phpmyadmin and doing what was instructed, and it didn’t work. I’ve tried everything I could find that I felt comfortable doing, and nothing works. I’m locked out and fear I have to wipe everything out and start all over. I’m very disappointed. ??
