Anyone had CPU Usage Spike Once Installed?

The plugin does just about everything I want it to do but it has doubled my CPU usage with my hosting company making them limit my resources and keep taking down my site.
Why is this plugin so usage intensive and has anyone else come across this? Are there any manual settings to adjust this?
