Yes, I checked all that, and it still didn’t work.

In reply to: Changing permalink structure and 301 redirectionAfter some searching I found that the “Permalink Fix & Disable Canonical Redirects Pack” plugin solved the problem.

In reply to: Changing permalink structure and 301 redirectionSorry, should have said
The new category links don’t work but the old ones do.

In reply to: Changing permalink structure and 301 redirectionAh, I think I might have solved part of the problem, the .htaccess file permissions were 664 so it wasn’t been rewritten. I now have the new permalink for the blog posts, but get a 404 error for the categories. Any ideas?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Changing permalink structure and 301 redirectionBut is I change the default permalink structure, ?p=123 to a /%category%/%postname%/ structure, existing external links to the old ?p=123 URLs then throw a 404 error. Or am I missing something?
Confused.

In reply to: URL Convert as User FriendlyIs there a way of doing this without loosing the original URL? If I use change the existing Permalinks then none of the external links to my site will work any more, so is there a way of having pretty links, which Google likes, without loosing traffic from external sites pointing at existing URLs? Or am I asking the imposable?
Mine stats were working fine until I updated to 3.4, looks like Jetpack has a problem with the new update.

In reply to: Fatal Error on updating to 3.4I had the same problem, only I am not using the DB Cache plugin so that wasn’t what was causing the problem. I follows esmi advice on
-re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPressand it now works, but I didn’t actually disable any plug-ins, so I don’t know what the cause was.

In reply to: RSS widget title link wrongThanks! That seems to do what I am looking for.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: RSS widget title link wrongThat makes no sense, how can you give people an RSS feed if there is no link to it on the site? All I am trying to do is provide a link to a RSS feed to my readers. How else can they get a RSS feed if there is no link? I don’t understand.
The default RSS widget, is the only widget which has the title as a link that is the way it works by default, this is not something I have done.

In reply to: RSS widget title link wrongMy blog, I have given the widget the title of “Follow Me…” The widget makes the title a link, but not to the RSS feed, only the icon to the left of it. This is not the behavior most users expect.

In reply to: Permalink for category links stopped working after upgradeOn further investigation I have just found the problem is with the Permalink Validator Plugin. Deactivating this plugin resolves the problem.
