In reply to: WP 3.5 – any way to default "Add Media" to "Upload Files"?Adding my voice in agreement.
99.99% of the time I want to add media to a post, it’s brand new. The default library view is slow and necessitates another click through to get to what I want. It should default to post specific images.
Also, the selection process was a little counterintuitive. I figured it out, but it wasn’t immediately obvious what was going on.
As an aside, the media uploader display is a little buggy in Safari 6, plus a noticeable delay when inserting.
I realize It might be fixable with the edition of extra stylesheet rules. I’m going to give that a shot.
I have the same problem.
Embed in the parent site’s options is set for 640px. (It won’t take a percent value)
Videos embedded in comments are 640pixels wide too, but the comments area is not as wide as the main content so it get’s clipped. I tried not setting anything in the settings, and it doesn’t seem to have any effect, outside of making my main embeds a little smaller.
Here’s a link with videos in the post content and comments.

In reply to: tiny mice error with 3.3 upgrade and SafariI banged my head against the wall for a while and finally decided to upgrade my OS to 10.6 – and the issue is resolved.

In reply to: tiny mice error with 3.3 upgrade and SafariFlushed and logged out and quit the browser and relaunched, still the same problem. Maybe I’ll try a restart. Absurd, but I have to try.

In reply to: tiny mice error with 3.3 upgrade and SafariMU plugins? Is that still possible after the convergence? I just checked, nothing there.

In reply to: tiny mice error with 3.3 upgrade and SafariFORGOT ONE IMPORTANT THING—-
It’s a Network installation, and it works fine (in Safari) on all network sites EXCEPT the main site!
Blogs are on subdomains, if that matters.

In reply to: Can you group comments by "commentmeta"?Me too, though slightly different. I have a certain type of custom post that is very long, and has a lot of small images I’d like to be able to group comments by each anchor name. to get an idea of what I mean visit this page:
https://features.skateandannoy.com/ebaywatch/ebay-watch-march-2011/
Now imagine each one of those small images has a comment link and it’s own tally of comments for that image. Ultimately, all the comments would still display inline at the bottom of the post, with a little inline popup link next to each auction that contains the comments relevant to that auction.
Thins seems more like a case of needing Custom Comment Fields instead of Comment Meta. Each one of these posts typically has 50 or so numerically labeled auctions. Having 50-60 meta types seems like overkill.
Like so: (These links work)
https://features.skateandannoy.com/ebaywatch/ebay-watch-march-2011/#auction32
https://features.skateandannoy.com/ebaywatch/ebay-watch-march-2011/#auction50
I had an irrational hope that someone already had a plugin for this, but I realize I’ll probably have to try and figure it out on my own. If anyone has any guidance or theory they want to share it would be appreciated, I’m not an advanced php coder.

In reply to: users missing from author dropdown after upgradeI got tired of it so I exported the offending network site and reimported it as another site. The new one worked, so I trashed the old one. Kind of a drastic step, but it ultimately worked.

In reply to: User Id's missing in 3.1@ Otto.. Why won’t they be coming back?

In reply to: users missing from author dropdown after upgradeMe, too, but oddly enough only on one of my network sites. All the users have disappeared. I can add new ones but they disappear as soon as I add them. Adding preexisting users tells me that user already exists, even though they don’t show up in the users table for that site’s dashboard. The users still show up in Network Admin though. I tried enabling Twenty Ten to see if it was an error caused by my theme but it didn’t help. It’s distressing.
The plugin was updated today, works with custom post types. You have to manually add the post type name in the settings box.
