In reply to: Hiding Menu and Footer on One Page with Divi and Child ThemeOn the edit page, go to the “Page Attributes” section on the right hand sidebar and in the “Template” drop down select “Blank Page”. That will remove all of the default elements of your site (header, footer, menues, etc..), from that page, and leave only the Divi elements that you put in. (You must update before you see the results, it won’t show in page preview until you do)
To just remove the attribution links in the footer, go into the Divi Theme Options, General Settings, and scroll all the way to the bottom and enter this in the custom CSS box:
#footer-info {display: none;}
…and save it.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO Snippet showing shortcoadesIf your theme has a meta description area in the add page/post sections then you can just add the text there, that you want to display, and it will override what is auto generated.
If not, you can install a plugin, like WordPress SEO by Yoast, and that will add a meta description area for you. It will even show you how it will be displayed before you even publish the page.

for This plugin it is here:
Awesome! The update worked, and the buttons are now working properly again.
Thank you. ??
Yeah, it does break the link.
The thing is, it didn’t change those signs on the buttons that I created the previous day, which work.
I went in to phpMyAdmin to compare the buttons that worked with the ones that didn’t. The ones that work have the = and & signs intact, and I can fix the broken links by replacing those signs within phpMyAdmin.
Something changed. I have no doubt that it was something on my end, but I have no idea what it could be. The only thing that changed were the updates and additional plugin that I mentioned previously.
This:
clc=e522d04df1063bac3e9a41f47f2828c2&id=77537612
Is getting changed to this:
clc%3De522d04df1063bac3e9a41f47f2828c2%26id%3D77537612
The = and & is pretty common in URL’s so I don’t imagine that that is an intentional change, especially since it didn’t do that to the URL’s that I used the day before. The URL’s that worked the day before no longer work if I try to create a new button with them, so something changed. The previously created buttons still work though.
The only thing that happened in between is that I updated 4 plugins that had updates available, and installed a new plugin: WP Fastest Cache. I have deactivated WP Fastest Cache since the problem started but it hasn’t helped.
I have deactivated and reactivated Maxbuttons, and I have redownloaded and copied the maxbuttons files back up to the server allowing overwrites.

In reply to: [Widget Logic Visual] Ruined My WebsiteIf it has caused a problem, remove it. If you can’t do it through the plugin page, remove it through FTP. That should resolve any issues that it is creating.
OK, I figured it out.
The problem resulted from enabling “Minify” in the W3 Total Cache plugin.
I just tried turning on the slideshow, and that no longer works.
Odd. I have not updated WP or anything.
OK, Thank you for the follow up.
Actually, I really like the way the gallery works, so I will likely use that for most things. The slideshow gave me some nice ideas for certain projects, but i will likely get much more use out of the Gallery.
Thanks again. Great plugin. ??
Hi,
1) I didn’t say that I wanted to restrict the users. In fact, the way it is now, the plugin does the restricting. They will only see the full slideshow if they click on the first image. After that, the plugin restricts the slideshow to that image and the ones that come after it. Yes, it is possible that they may not want to see the ones prior to the one they clicked. If that is the case, however, then isn’t it just as likely that they don’t want to see the ones after it? It doesn’t make sense to only restrict it in one direction “intentionally”.
It’s possible that a user does like the ones before the one they selected, but something about that one caught their eye first, so they click it and get the slideshow that runs until the last image. They then see one that is a few images before the previous one they clicked, and see a couple of different images, and then the rest of the slideshow they have already seen, but still not seeing any of the images before the one they clicked. I think it would be far more annoying for them to get shown the same images over and over than to be shown all the images in one go.
The way it is now doesn’t give the users any more of a choice. In fact, slide shows are not meant to give the users the choice, other than to close it. If we want the users to only see the images they want to see, then we wouldn’t even use the slideshow option. It is a design decision to have a slideshow, or not. If users are fine with a slideshow, it makes sense to allow them to see the whole slideshow, rather than a truncated version. Most users will not know that they need to click on the first image to see the whole slideshow.
I think it would be better if the slideshow looped, so that no matter which image is clicked, they see the entire slide show. There could always be an option to turn looping on or off. Though, I was really just wondering if there was a work around way to change it in the code.
If it is a technical issue where it is too difficult (or impossible) to implement, I get that. I just wanted to know if it was possible…which wasn’t answered. Is it a hard-coded restriction, or is there a way to edit something to allow it to loop?
2) OK. I didn’t see an option, but I thought there might be a way to do it. My thought was that, if it was possible, it would allow you to put one image on the page (saving on loading time), and still allow people to see the full gallery, in full size, without having to leave the page. For what I am currently working on, it seemed like an interesting idea, but it’s not a big deal.
You do not add a gallery to the body of the gallery page. All the uploaded images are shown at the very bottom of the gallery screen. If you add a gallery to the editing area of that page, it will duplicate the gallery. Nothing should be in the editing area.

In reply to: Privacy Policy already ExistsAs you say, it is not an obvious solution. Thank you for posting your solution. It would not have occurred to me that the plugin was looking at a page that was in the trash.

In reply to: Unable to expand menu in admin pageAre you using Firefox? If so, try it in another browser. If it works, then Firefox is the problem.
First, it you have the NoScript Firefox addon installed, make sure to allow it to run scripts on your site.
I also had a problem when I upgraded to the new version of WordPress with a 3.x version of Firefox. I couldn’t expand certain menus, and some arrows didn’t even appear. I upgraded to version 5 of Firefox, and everything started working normally. Unfortunately, many of my Firefox addons didn’t work, so I downgraded Firefox back to a 3.x version, and the problems with WordPress remained fixed. I can’t really say why. Maybe a newer version of certain files remained installed with the downgrade.

In reply to: Twenty Elevem Theme sidebar replaced with Next/PreviousAh. Interesting….though not in a good way. That seems like an odd default behavior, especially now that you can add posts to the custom menu. You want them to look like the rest of your site. It seems like most people would want to keep the sidebar. It’s not like it makes the page bigger, it still uses the space of the sidebar for the Next/Previous links. They could have at least made it a toggle, like with the pages.
Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s a great theme. I am just a little surprised to find out that was a design choice. It doesn’t make much sense to me. I can see some people liking it, but it seems to me that most would not. <shrug>
I had tried searching and couldn’t find any reference to the problem. Mostly I found people wanting to add next/previous links to the tool bar, but nothing about this issue. Thank you very much for the link to a work around. i really appreciate it. It looks a little more complicated than I had hoped, but I’m glad there is a fix. Besides, it will give me some practice on editing themes. ??
Thanks again.
