When you are setting up the attributes for your products, did you check “Used for variations” box?

Insert the value “0” under the field “NUMBER OF IMAGE PER PAGE”

I tried the no of columns to display and its working fine.

However, I am trying to give an options for user to choose to display 2 images and 6 images in a row, just like the one on the zara page.
