also, i JUST created mainstyle.css by just copying style.css and renaming it, so how can it be different? (scratching head!) hmm, maybe i made a mistake..i’ll check again

In reply to: why do i lose my layout when i use permalinks?well, when i updated from 1.2 to 1.5, i changed mainstyle.css into style.css and placed it in my theme folder (as per the instructions given on the WP Codex)

In reply to: Comments don’t show up in my old thememoshu…that worked! i compared the two files before and thought there wasnt much different, but guess i was wrong and overlooked something.
anyways, replacing both comments files from the default worked, so for now it’s good. I’ll try to find out what the problem was with the comments files i had.

Thats the template I copied from the ‘Default’ theme and copied into my theme’s directory, but apart from making the site lose the layout, it didn’t help bring the comments back.
I highlighted the one line of code which the WP Codex tutorial asked to be put in, replacing another line of code.

Please take a look; By now I went over this stuff enough to make me probably miss little things that are being done wrong. Plus, I don’t know any php so it gets confusing!

I like minimalistic themes too, but its hard to get most of my regular friends interested in a simple site!:-p
